The Dance Hall 5: Ice Dance Fans 2017-2018

Well we have CTV record and televise Nationals so international fans can watch later from youtube or other streaming sites.

I have never actually followed sectionals to know what is done there... outside of fan cams. ◇totally ignorant on it◇

This year at least, sectional were streamed and IIRC the Summer Quebec championships were streamed too.
Skate Canada does a pretty good job through Daily Motion of streaming the smaller competitions, so I'm sure we don't have to wait Nationals to see them.

How long have Robledo/Fenero been skating together? Is the retirement due to the competition in Spain and lack of spots to compete internationally?

Are there movies with a good tango soundtrack? We have the obvious Cell block tango from Chicago and Assassin's tango from Mr and Mrs Smith (I know it's kind of overdone in singles but do we have an ice dance program?). And just now I thought of last tango in Paris which would fit a french team ;)

For FB/S, Danadians is my favourite.

Are those recorded though? I was thinking of what would be taped for international fans of the Canuck Danes... as I am now calling them... :shuffle:

Skate Canada requires the main summer comps to be live streamed, but Skate Ontario doesn't normally archive them (at least they didn't this year). Quebec normally does. But some fans with probably screen capture it.

Challenge and Quebec sectionals should be live streamed too.

V/M used Assassin’s Tango for their OD in the 2006-2007 season.

Tessa and Scott used music from Assassination Tango in 2006, which is crime thriller. And a different piece of music from Assassin's Tango.

Scent of a Woman had a tango scene

Scent of a Woman had a tango scene
Yes, I think that one is called Por Una Cabeza? Anna Pogorilya and Karen Chen have both used this I believe......feel free to correct me on this.

Edit: From the trusted internets:

What is the name of the Tango from Scent of a Woman?
Por una Cabeza. "Por una Cabeza" is a tango song with music and lyrics written in 1935 by Carlos Gardel and Alfredo Le Pera respectively.

Gadbois now has (off the top of my head):

CAN: Soucisse/Firus, Fournier-Beaudry/Sorensen, Lajoie/Lagha, Fisher/Malette-Paquette
US: Hubbell/Donohue
FRA: Papadakis/Cizeron, Lauriault/Legac
ESP: Smart/Diaz
GBR: Fear/Gibson
JPN: Fukase/Tateno
ARM: Garabedian/Proulx-Senecal
BUL: Markova/Daze

The 4 coaches in most of the ISU bio are Dubreuil, Lauzon, Hagenauer, and Denis, but there are more people at the boards at the rink.

That bolded part makes me so excited. Can't wait for Nationals.

I believe Fear/Waddell do the same thing that Fear/Gibson do, which is train mainly in the UK over the course of the season and come work with Romain in the summer.

Assassin's Tango from Mr. & Mrs. Smith was used by at least three--maybe four--teams for their CD at the same level at U.S. Nationals this season. I can't remember which level had the tango, but I hope none of my favorites pick Assassin's Tango because if it is the most popular choice at the intermediate or novice level, it's not too likely that only one team will use it in seniors.

Note: I vote for Danadians as well.

Junior teams currently together & aging up to seniors:

I believe . . .
Shpilevaya & Smirnov
Skoptcova & Aleshin
Schwendinger & Wunderlich
Ning & Wang

Anyone else?
Ichilov and Davidovich (17th at Junior Worlds). They'll be the top Israeli team, but another season at the junior level would really benefit them.

How about Sofia SHEVCHENKO / Igor EREMENKO ? He is 20. The Russian scene is about to get very crowded.
