Good morning, everyone.
Sorry for not updating sooner...
Lee stayed in ICU overnight Saturday, and the internist decided on Sunday to keep her intubated and continue letting her settle. Monday morning at 1100, they extubated her and spent the rest of the day supporting and observing her.
She is conscious, cognitive and aware, and talking. Her first question to me was "NOW where am I?" Lol. The ICU nurses all recognized her and were dismayed that she was back there, but happy to see her again.
I wanted her back in a Neuro ward, but there were no beds available, so they held her in ICU until last night at 9:00, when a bed opened up for her. Now she is back on her old ward, with the same nursing staff, physio staff, and doctors.
This morning, when I walked in she was awake and looking for me. Life is good.
More to come!
