My shuttle driver left me off at Terminal A and my flight was taking off from what I remember as Terminal C. I felt like I had walked for miles and the floors in airports, like malls, are death for your feet!!!
Oh Nan, it was a highlight of my life! Alexei was beyond any performer I've ever seen...except maybe Nureyev...but it was "a moment in time." It was like time stopped. I think the whole audience held their breath until the end, and then there was such a storm of happiness from the entire crowd, and Alexei breaking into tears and kissing the ice, and...gosh. It was great! I am so happy to have been there. Thank you for the rep! Best wishes!
Yes-I was lucky and previleged! It was about 1965, and he was all dressed up in hippy gear, boots, etc, and his gorgeous hair was shoulder length. My little teen self almost melted into a puddle right then and there! Thanks for the rep!
I hope so also. We keep in contact on a site called 'vkontakte.ru', kind of a Russian facebook. He sounds very relaxed and happy, and says he does not miss skating at all. I think he'll make a good coach some day.
