Really, part deux

What a wonderful update! I don’t have Lee on and social media so I only know what I see here.

It sounds like her recovery really is going in the right direction.

As always, I have great admiration for how you’ve both handled this very long journey.

What an amazing nurse to go and visit her too.

Fingers crossed that when you get home you’ll get to hear all about the plans for the next stage of recovery. ❤️❤️

@Gerry I know that you could write a dissertation in patience (and patients) at this point, but I have a question. Has Lee been home at all since this all started? If not, does that seem to be on the horizon? What creature comforts about home does she miss? And is there a way for us to bring that to her?

This sounds great. Residential rehab is transformative. But the irony is, the better the patient is getting, the more they hate it. My husband used to roll to the elevator in his wheelchair and try to go home with me. But he wouldn't have been safe at home as he was such a fall risk. It was heartrending. Trust that she is on the right path. After all you've been through I probably needn't tell you that! Congrats, @Gerry and well done, @Really!

Makes sense to me. As the patient gets better, going home becomes a real possibility, and the patient becomes impatient for release.

My dad signed himself out! He wasn’t quite ready really but he was done with hospitals and we did manage to cope, it was like he got his power back.

So awesome to see Lee’s FB posts! @Gerry you guys have had an incredible journey and have shared it with us. So inspirational. I know the journey will continue and the family will have to deal with the new normal not the old one, but in comparison to where you guys have come from it’s amazing.

Hi....it's me. Thank you for all the kind messages and flowers!

I started therapy yesterday. I'm hoping to be home for Christmas, Gerry has been a star, as you've seen. Not sure how I got so lucky.

The kids and grandkids have all been to visit and so have several staff from my school. I had a surprise video visit from Pat C during Skate Canada, which was wonderful, But Gerry is my rock, Have I mentioned how lucky I am to have him?

That's all for now. I'm looking forward to home, back to work, and skating on TV,

Take care everyone and thanks again!

-Lee
