Project Runway Spring 2019 Bravo

Also, Hester's turkey suit reminded me of season 2 when Santino said he wanted to make a turkey suit. And then he basically made a turkey suit skating dress for Sasha.

This was a challenge made for Garo I think. And I haven't even seen the episode yet.

I just watched the Rio episode. Not sure how Hester's bathing suit won. It looked so cheap.

If Michael Kors was still a judge, he would have called Renee's outfit "Golden Girls"

I love the Social Justice Warrior challenge. This show is so much better on Bravo and I can’t believe I’m saying this, but Christian is a worthy successor to Tim.
Agreed! However, NuHeidi is a fail imo

I love Christian, and think Karli is a worthy successor to Heidi.

I really enjoyed this challenge, it was well thought out and so very well done. Loved the idea of the t shirts. All three of the top designs were so gorgeous and strong. Overall some damn good designs.

Bravo (pun intended) Project Runway:cheer2:

I like Karlie. She's not diva Heidi, but I think she's likable, and she speaks her mind. I also like her because she is obsessed with coding, she took 2 years off modeling to study at NYU, she appears on shows doing STEM outreach for kids (not modeling, fashion). She's interesting.

I loved how respectful most of the designers were with their models, especially Sebastian and Garo, who not only listened, but gave them killer looks.

Sebastian was the clear winner, and I so disagree with Elaine who called the look 1950s poodle skirt. Sebastian has killer design and technical skills and the quality amount of work he is able to put out week after week is amazing.

Garo's look was perfect for his model and it was clear how amazing he made her feel. He had some technical issues, the hem was wonky and it wasn't all that inventive from a design perspective, but well done overall. I'm glad he listened to Christian and ditched the pink.

Bishme was so sweet in his enthusiasm about his teacher and I loved how he kept posing the math question to anybody who would listen. The dress was pretty and she clearly loved it but again, nothing terribly inventive.

Hester was kind to her model, but totally clueless if she can't go full on crazy with her looks. The dress was ill fitted and wtf with those droopy panels inset in the hem?

Tessa really is clueless and arrogant to think she can just ignore the brief and her client and do the same damn thing she always does. That dress was truly hideous and you could see her model was unhappy and uncomfortable. I was LMAO when she insisted she doesn't do black all the time and the producers showed 4 of her previous looks all in black. I couldn't believe how hard she argued that it was perfectly fine not to have finished hems and to use hemming tape. You could just see Nina and Brandon ready to explode. I mean if Nina Garcia were shooting darts at me with her eyes like she was at Tessa, I'd be running for the hills. I would have been fine with Tessa being the one auf'd and apparently Nina and Brandon both tweeted that they would have auf'd both.

Jamall was truly lost. I felt so sorry for his poor model, she was clearly uncomfortable and trying to make the best of it.

Christian once again is so spot on with his critiques and help. He just knows how to assess and help the designer course correct so well. Loved the visit to his atelier. So beautiful and fun. Remember how he was working and living out of what was basically a closet in Season 4?

Me too. There’s minimalist and there’s boring, not the same thing. My money is on Sebastian for the win if he can get his head together.
Her inability to react to the feedback drove me crazy. If she sent at least one perfectly finished garment down the runway in any of the last few episodes, she might have stayed.

The problem with Tessa beyond the unfinished garments and her attitude, was that her silhouettes were basically all the same. She was very one note IMO. That last look was just a mess, it pretty much looked like she just threw the fabric on. And that BS she started spouting about Japanese aesthetic sounded very much like she just looked it up on wikipedia and didn't really understand the concept.

I am happy with the final 4, and am really hoping for a Sebastian win. I agreed with Nina and the guest judge, his design was the most interesting and certainly the best made. Too bad his room really kind of sucked.

I know Garo's whole aesthetic is modeled around a corset and his look and room were well done, I just would like to see more range and an updated look from him.

Bishme has really grown in this competition, I'm happy for him and am looking forward to his collection.

Hester, I get that she has a certain POV, but honestly she has truly poor construction skills (that top was horrendously fitted) and I think alot of what she does looks dated and rather juvenile. Still I'm happier with her in the 4th spot rather than Tessa.

I'm really pleased with this reboot, it's the first time in years I have looked forward to watching. I'm excited for the finale.

I have liked Sebastian all year but I think Garo is probably my favorite when he gets it right. Hester always has creative ideas but more often than not I don’t get it. Bishme has only stood out a few times for me the entire season.

But yes, this group I think is one of the strongest in many years and it really could go any way.

Any word on whether Bravo is going to do Project Runway All Stars? Aside from Hester, the other top four are total All Stars material, as well as some of the designers eliminated earlier. A lot of talent on this season.

I love all three guys equally and hope one of them wins. Hester's stuff is like Forever 21 made by a drunken seamstress. Her stuff just isn't on the level of the other three and she drives me nuts.

Does "the other top four" include Tessa? Because someone that can't finish hems doesn't belong on All Stars.

So I have done a complete 180 on Hester. Should she win? Probably not but it will be FUN, colorful, and different (in all its connotations).

And while I’m having my unpopular opinion moment, Garo’s collection was boring and dated. I also have a problem with a very successful designer who is a known entity and can afford business space in NEW YORK vying for a prize for up-and-coming designers. OTOH, Bishme’s was just...terrible. I was rooting for him but Holy Alexander McQueen there was no redeeming that collection.

I'm still not sold on Hester. I just think her collection still has a juvenile and dated quality. I totally agree with everything you said about Garo, I like him and think he has skill but can he do anything that doesn't have a corset?

Bishme was just lost. I liked some of what I could see of his collection, that black leather outfit was hot. I think he's got a lot of creativity and will get his shit together eventually.

I am still team Sebastian all the way. I loved what he showed and covet that burnt orange jacket, except the color would be terrible on me. But the style ,:swoon::swoon:
