A few weeks ago, a coach showed me a mail signed "the new president" and the IP address was under the name Didier Gailhaguet. He doesn't even bother to hide so he could as well sign all communications himself. A farce indeed.
The same way you can spot a doppelganger on the internet. Style, recurrences, manners.

After some people from the FFSG reported they recognized his way of writing in the new president's letters and instructions to the clubs (reported by Le Télégramme newspaper, and Gailhaguet wasn't even denying), I checked the Courchevel press pack, telling jokingly to myself he wouldn't dare.
.....
.....
.....
And he did !
Nobody writes like that, except Gailhaguet. You can spot him from kilometers away.
This made me freeze

They were both at the IAM party. As for why, I have no idea. I believe Guillaume did their FD, so maybe more work on that.

From Twitter today - I.AM announces that Evgeniia Lopareva & Geoffrey Brissaud, representing France, are now part of the Ice Academy of Montreal!
The skaters will share their time between Lyon, where they will continue to be trained by Roxane Petetin, and Montréal, where they are fully integrated in the I. AM team.

Evgeniia and Geoffrey have started training with us mid-August and will compete for the first time in the 2022/2023 season at the French Masters.

News about Kevin Aymoz

It seems it's not that bad : an ankle sprain from the first analyses.

How did Mae-Berenice Meite do in France senior women? Better than in Nebelhorn, Nepela, I hope!

Une "slave" d'examens ? Does it mean they were made by docs from Eastern countries? 😄 For non-French speakers, the paper made a typo and/or mixed up the words "slave" = slav and "salve" = slavo - une salve d'examens means a battery of tests 😉 Une slave d'examens means nothing at all. But this is the Dauphiné Libéré, my local paper, proofreading isn't their forte!

Has anyone any information about Trophée Métropole Nice Côte d'Azur yet?
You would think a week before the event someone might have the entry lists ;)

Good grief, it looks like the entire French team bar Kevin Aymoz is skating! At least most of them get a week away from competition after the Masters de Patinage, but Clemence is skating at Egna this weekend and then Nice next...

ETA: Whoops, not so bad for Clemence after all - I could have sworn it was her scheduled for Egna, but it's Lola Ghozali (who's just done quite a nice SP, good for her).

The FFSG saga : part ... too much

2 members of the executive board are alerting the federal coucil (kind of survey board ?) and the medias that indeed Gailhaguet is the ghost behind the new president (duh !), and that irregularities are happening within the FFSG.

In this article from october from l'Equipe, we learn that there are tensions between the new president, Mrs Noury, and the secretary of the executive board, Mr Patrice Martin and another (FS) member.

During the election, Noury and Martin were sold as a duo. She was the unknown president of a small club. He was a familiar/popular name and face but totally out of his place as president of the Waterskiing and Waterboarding French Federation, a legend of his sport. After the elections, he was the one who talked to the press while she remained unattainable. He did the public after-sale, he said that Gailhaguet wouldn't be coming back. If it was just to be Mrs Noury's bulletproof jacket, I was wondering why Martin would join the FFSG. The article answers the question. He failed to be elected president of the french olympic committee (CNOSF). His federation is not olympian. So being at the head or very close to the head of an olympic federation would allow him to have more weight, as the current president of the CNOSF is fragilized and the election is in 2024.

Now that's a very twisted deal and very Gailhaguet.
Because from the outside, Patrice Martin means something at least respectable for the medias and the ministry.
But from the inside of the FFSG, if he was to be brushed aside and the duo deal (with Gailhaguet) broken, who is going to defend him ? Those who were defeated at the election ? Those who supported the deal at a lower level (I didn't see Candeloro getting anything so far; Joubert got the figure skating committee ; Bonally got some obscure committee role) ? The skating community ?

OTOH, as prevention of sexual violences was the priority of the ministry, the "new president" has contacted Sarah Abitbol for the FFSG to work with her association. Thoughtful touch from Gailhaguet. irony heavy

Now as we are approching the GP and board meeting, some masks are starting to fall. Martin is complaining to be marginalized, denounces irregularities in missions, cronyism, contracts made with friends and has alerted the federal council and the media. Gailhaguet is said to want to get rid of him. Gailhaguet's ex right hand, Sylvie Pulcini is back at the FFSG. There was a board meeting yesterday afternoon. No news yet.
The ministry is now launching a general inspection of the FFSG, governance, finances, accounts. Everything will go through the grill as in 2020.
Meanwhile, Mrs Noury hasn't spoken to the press since her election day (a late interview that day after Martin and another gentleman had answered all the questions and told the press the president was quite shy and not press trained, lol).

My impression is that Gailhaguet is going to expel Martin, come back oficially, force the FFSG to go in lock-in position and hold the siege of the ministry. He has seen 12 ministers come and go. 2 have forced him out and he's still there.
Plus except for a few (thinking about Alban and Gwendal), he had everyone to have their hands somehow dirty after this 2 years.
He makes them fight each others and get exhausted as he remains alone standing in the dark.

What a Clusterf....!
I was personally quite disgusted that Péchalat was not reelected ... it was quite a steep curve to try and change the decade old Gailhaguet-culture with a truncated presidency. A real slap in the face!

I'll make several posts because it will be some time before I finish to sum up the whole thing

The journalist has actually enquired on the traces of the proximity of Gailhaguet to the FFSG :

- it is a known fact that Raymonde Joubert is at best using him as her "mail help" (at worse, as Gailhaguet's proxy). In a violent exchange with people of the federation in 2021, she forgot to erase the corrections he made to her e-mail and his joined e-mail adress.

- In Mrs Noury manifesto and thank you note after the elections, the registered author of the document was Didier Gailhaguet

- he regularly writes to club presidents, to FFSG employees, to elected members of the FFSG, to CTS (its a pool of civil agents specialised in high level sport performance from whom the federations pick a few managers ; they take care of high level sport ; the french fed doesn't have many, less than 10 and even less than 5 I think ; there was a big clash between Gailhaguet/Noury and Martin about the choice of one of them ; the ministry hasn't validated the one the FFSG wanted, nor the one Mr Martin may or may not have wanted)

- Now Mrs Sylvie Pulcini, who is Gailhaguet's competent and needed help in everything;
In the federation, she used to get the 3/4 (around 7 700 €) of the end of the year bonus for the 11 employees. She was known to be cold, stressful, disrepectful and to create a very chilly atmosphere at the FFSG office. She left in 2020 with compensation.
She is back to the federation, preparing the Angers GP. She has sent an FFSG email to members of the japanese federation. Accoording to someone close to Mrs Noury, it's a one time thing.
She's not directly employed by the FFSG, she's employed by a long-time service provider of the FFSG, who was not an event organiser but just recently enlarged the scope of its services to the FFSG. Neither the provider, nor Mrs Noury, president of the FFSG answered the journalist's request. For many, the return of Mrs Pulcini in the FFSG office means Gailhaguet is near to 100 % back.

(What makes me laugh is when how Gailhaguet doesn't like financial transparency. I remember reading regularly general assembly reports and people asking for the amount of persons employed by the FFSG and how was their salary. It was always minimized and the info given in the quickest time-frame. Gailhaguet always said he was doing the job almost for free or for a minimal salary. I can't remember the last number I red but it wasn't high. But when he sued the administration after his forced resignation, he asked for 152 550 € to make up for the 27 months he wouldn't get. That makes a good 5 650 € per month, which is far above what I had been reading and quite good for someone doing it "for free".

- the exclusion of Patrice Martin was programed for monday afternoon. According to some coaches, Gailhaguet was calling the elected members of the FFSG to have him fired. (Don't know what will happen to the treasurer who was supporting him or to his skating club of Metz ; usually Gailhaguet makes you pay that kind of thing)
Martin and the treasurer were saying funny stuff were happening with the federation budget.

- from 2014 to 2019, a man called Romuald Debaque was employed by the FFSG for communication and event organisation.
In 2015, he created his own company of visual creation. While employed, he also became a provider of the FFSG for visuals and communication means (lol, I always laughed at how crappy and DIY they looked). For example, in 2018, his society was paid 56 000€ by the FFSG (cough cough sorry, coffee getting stuck). "as I'm not elected, it is not illegal" He said. "as long as there is a call for bids and several offers".
A member of the executive board said he choked when he discovered that. Mr Debaque didn't stop his activity after that. He resigned from the FFSG and went on being their provider. The member of the executive board who had questionned this situation and potential overcharging received a letter inviting him to "come to his senses". (told you, money is a very touchy subject at Gailhaguet's FFSG; and rigor a kind of concept)

After his resignation, Mr Debaque won a new contract from the FFSG. In communication. Mr Debaque was getting fees amounting to ... 9 000 € per month (cough cough, sorry), excluding VAT, and the use of a car. Mr Debaque rescinded his 3 years contract when Péchalat got elected. (going better)
But Mr Debaque could be back (oh no).

Several FFSG officials have resigned lately. They complained about the 63 000€ that the administration transfered in June as their olympic bonus. It has been blocked by the president of the federation.
Some people also question how the payment by card machine is very often "out of order" in FFSG's events under Gailhaguet's presidency (at the masters a few weeks ago, at the Grenoble GP), making payment in cash or cheque (if people still have any) the only mean to pay on site. (if it isn't obvious, many thinks part of the income goes directly in some people's pocket).

In 2020, when Pechalat took over, there were no file left on the computers and the inspection that had been launched by the ministry was stopped by the lack of material. The ministry is now relaunching an entire inspection of the FFSG accountability and finances.
