I immediately thought of Galyavieva too. No idea if she’s still looking for a partner but I would love to see her back (feel like I’m a broken record on that).

Who was the French skater that wanted to team up with him a couple of years agi and he once said in the Kiss’n’Cry at one competition that this would never happen?

In an Insta story he also specified his new partner would not be Julia Wagret. Too bad, they would have been a good match. Don't know if Adelina Galiavieva is still interested/available but I'd love to see her back too.

Does anyone know what happened to Théo Bigot et Dania Mouaden. They were scheduled to take part in the French Junior Championships. Did they withdraw because of injuries or did they split?

A new article about Demougeot/Le Mercier on Ice-dance.com:

Interestingly, they both participate in theatre on ice competition, as well as ice dance.

They mention that Nations' Cup (which is the equivalent of Worlds in theatre on ice, although obviously much smaller than Worlds) will take place in Boston (Norwood) this year, from April 21-23. Good to know for those of us in the Boston area!

He seems to have been injured all season long.
They have reappeared last week end in the Reims Tournoi de France in the novice category and he has grown something like 15-20 cm.
They finished second. Their programs are not really polished yet.
Here is their FD at around 51'51''
They will compete at the novice championships on 25-26 of March.

Thank you @Nmesis! I was starting to worry that something was really wrong!
Théo is clearly one the kids with an early growth spurt ... it must be H.. on the joints! Not surprising that that kind of change comes with injuries. Dania has grown too, of course.
I wish them all the best! they are one of the young couples to watch imo.

Interestingly, they both participate in theatre on ice competition, as well as ice dance.
Along with Marie Dupayage/Thomas Nabais, Célina Fradji/Jean-Hans Fourneaux, Louise Bordet/Thomas Gipoulou, Maya Benkiewicz/Mark Shapiro, Eva Bernard/Amedeo Bonetto, Lou Koch and some others like the new couple Léa Hienne/Baptiste Ferrand.
They will miss the first competition because it's just before Worlds but will rejoin the team afterwards.

1. oh yes, they very much are
2. Dania turned 13yo and Théo 14yo in october. They will be eligible for the JGP next season
That's why I said France definitly needs all the JGP entries it can get.
Because there are other young french couples of the same age I want to see in JGP like Sarah Marcilly Vasquez / Jolan Engel (at 2:04:05 on this video) and they all need the maximum of experience.

And for the record, Dania and Théo also do theatre on ice.
But their team is in the "Open, less than 15yo" category, which I don't think is eligible for the Nations' Cup.

And fun fact, I've discovered that Kevin Aymoz also did theater on ice, in Villard's/Arribert's senior team on 2015.
That was for a strong but not happy program as it was only weeks after the shooting at Charlie Hebdo and Villard did a "right to caricature/freedom of the press" program.

Yes, November.
I had a vague memory of posting about the Koch/Melnyk split on FSU somewhere but couldn't find it in my search - yes, they had registered for Open D'Andorra in November 2022 but WD.

From the Dance Hall thread:
If anyone hasn't seen Koch & Melnyk's Swan Lake FD, it's a must watch. Their choreo steps (at about 2:06) are possibly the best element of the season. It will make you look at what's coming out of the NA ice dance schools and just sigh out of boredom.
Their JGP Baltic Cup FD performance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCyf60oKuTs

Again. What's the logic behind giving Aymoz 44.45 PCS, and Siao Him Fa 42.59 PCS, with the latter fudging up ALL his jumps and with a joke program? What did he present?

Keeping it strictly to the French. Otherwise I also have major questions regarding Aymoz vs Cha, Tomono, Messing, Rizzo, and Grassl. Cha and Messing being ahead is a total farce.

Are you thinking about coming back to competitions and defining new goals?
Gabriella: We are thinking about it. It is a discussion we've had with us and our federation. We are starting to look at our future projects. But it's just a discussion.

With the 2026 OG in sight?
Guillaume: Not yet, we don't know yet. I think we will take more time to think about it. We will take next season off to do shows and refine our projects.

The pause could last longer than expected?
Gabriella: We'll see (laughing!!)

So no Papdakis-Cizeron in 2023/24!! But they are not closing the door for a come-back.

Can anyone read this May 12th French article behind a paywall? “Fear is over! : Gwenaëlle Noury, the president of the Ice Sports Federation confides in "l'Obs":

Thunderbolt in the world of skating. I don't have access but I can tell you FFSG has dismissed those 6 members to get rid of the past and the influence of Didier Gailhaguet :

  • Mme Delphine Harold, Présidente de la CSN Ballet sur Glace,
  • M. Eric Le Mercier, Président de la CSN Danse sur Glace,
  • M. Brian Joubert, Président de la CSN Patinage Artistique,
  • Mme Chantal Sala, Elue en charge de la formation.
