Wow, she looks like she could be Loena‘s kid sister.

Looks like Anna Pezzetta is getting a new program or programs from Adam Solya.

Matteo Rizzo’s 3A is back!

Lucrezia Beccari has been rehabbing from an injury and hopes to return to the ice soon:

Interesting that Sarina and Anna are being invited to the camp.

No dance teams?

Manuel Piazza has teamed up with Julia Sylvia Gunarsdottir and they will represent Iceland!

Manuel's last competition representing Italy with Anna Valesi was 2023 CoC, so they should be eligible to begin competing in mid-November.

Criteria for selection for ISU Championships

Competitions are divided into 2 groups

Group A
  • Senior and Junior National Championships
  • Challenger Series
  • ISU Championships
  • ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final and series
  • ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final and series
  • ISU World Team Trophy in Figure Skating
  • Figure Skating Olympic Qualifying Competition
  • EYOF
  • YOG
  • Olympics
  • World University Games
Group B
  • International competition in ISU Calendar
  • Interclub competitions in the calendar of Italian Fed
  • Interclub competitions in ISU alendar
  • National competitions in the calendar of Italian Fed (Ice Dance)
  • Italian Championships Series events - Elite series (Single and Pair)
Competitions of Group A count fully.
Competitions of Group B are factored by 0.95. Best score from Group B can be counted fully.

In Senior Single category, the step sequence score is subtracted from the total score .
In Senior Pairs category the lowest lift score is subtracted from the total score.

For European Championships:
Senior Nationals + 2 top scores from other competitions

For World Championships and World Team Trophy:
Senior Nationals + 3 top scores from other competitions. One score must be achieved in 2025.

For Junior World Championships:
Single and Pairs: Junior Nationals or Senior Nationals (deducing step sequence in Single and the lift with lowest score in Pairs) + 3 top scores from other competitions. One score must be achieved after Nationals.
Ice Dance: Junior Nationals + 3 top scores from other competitions. One score must be achieved after Nationals.

If somebody can't attend National, the score from another international competition can be instead used.
If you haven't participated in enough international or national competitions this season, you can use the score of the last international competition of last season (factored by 0.95 if they are from Group A and 0.85 if from Group B).

I think these are all the main points.

Last week there were jump tests for those needing confirmation of Elite status and those wanting to change level of category.
They were judged by video during the weekend.
Here are the results. Please, don't laugh at the format of the document.
Are we not supposed to laugh because the link leads us to an error page that says the data is null?

No, they changed the links between yesterday and today. That's because they had to re-upload them as it wasn't scanned correctly and so you couldn't see the right tail of the page
Still the same format on the new links. Good old excel timesheet printed and the judges writing by hand the GOE

Grassl did a 4Lo with a +3 GOE in his first attempt. Second attempt was 4Lo+3T. I think called with a Q...well, if I read the handwriting correctly. 0 GOE.
Then a 4S+3T with +3 GOE. And then a 4S popped into a 2S.
Circelli had a 4T with two feet (-3 GOE). Then a 4T popped into a 2T. Then 4T+Eu+3S with a step over on the Euler (-2 GOE...I guess the 0 is crossed).

Caldara/Maglio fell in both attempts they did.

Piretta and Gutmann both jumped 3F and 3T+3T. +2 GOE for Piredda, +1 for Gutmann

Ahh, okay! I did find those, with a bit of digging around on the FISG website but wasn't sure if that's what you were referring to.

For those who would like to see Anna Pezzetta put out a whopper of a short program today. Mamma Mia.

Take a look at all three jump passes. I can’t think of anyone who jumped better besides Midori Ito.

I definitely think Anna should be in first place here and if this was a senior competition, I think I would have the score at 73 points. It’s a crime is sitting there at around 67 if you ask me. She’s really fast, skates big, skates fast. She must be an Uber of amber. Lol

Good lord the size of those jumps! That's very impressive.

Y'know I just tried to catch up to more of the GP series, and I wish I hadn't? Grassl is probably the worst men's skater of the past several years, maybe a whole decade, of those who've finished in the top 10 at worlds/olympics, and worse than many below that. Hideous quads that should be getting < or << each and every single time, the worst air positions on all jumps, and crossovers that make him look like he's frozen on one side of the body, with tacky Eteri-style choreography to go with all that. And then he goes and wins two medals, with several uncalled jumps and PCS that is 5 points too high in the SP and 15 points too high in the LP.

Of the other Italian men, Memola(?) whose "lines" are being praised by certain fs fans online - I mean if those are lines then I'm Michelle Kwan. Bad jumps, even if less bad than Grassl's. Rizzo is the best of the Italian men, and he's so bland.

I find it very easy to hate someone who trained with an abuser like Eteri, was accused of doping, and has hideous overscored skating that looks more and more set up to fetch him a medal at Milan, IDK about the others. He'd do well to look at any of those things and improve on them instead of telling himself everyone's just a "hater".

Although as the joke went among the Fanyus during the 2021-22 season, Grassl might be the world number 1 that skating deserves even if nobody wants it.

Oh wow, totally impressive. Very underscored in this short program in this event, indeed. Glad you shared this, totally rooting for her moving forward!
