Valentina Marchei/Ondrej Hotarek are sitting out the GP season (her IG post on June 29): https://www.instagram.com/p/Bknh8MmgRIu/?hl=en&taken-by=valemarchei14
Maurizio Zandron was originally selected for #5 Rostelecom Cup in Moscow, Russia (would have been his GP debut) but he reportedly is switching counties to Austria and will need to sit out this season: https://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/th...nts-2018-19-season.104089/page-8#post-5388635

Daniel Grassl, 16, is scheduled to start his Junior Grand Prix season later this month in Bratislava, Slovakia - here's his 4Lz+3Lo practice clip at the Courchevel camp in late July: https://www.instagram.com/p/BlxUyQlHf8y/?hl=en&taken-by=danielgrassl_official

I'm a bit surprised that Zandron would switch countries at this point in his career. He's almost 26 and will have to sit out a year, during which time he'll lose standing for international assignments. Seems risky but I hope it works out for him.

Contesti was 24 the last time he competed for France (2007 French Nationals) and had just turned 26 the first time he competed internationally for Italy (Challenge Cup 2008). I think he was the oldest Mens skater to switch Federations in the few Olympic cycles before Zandron. Lucine, Righini, and Messing were in their early 20's, and Krasnozhon and Murakami were in their teens. Is there someone I'm missing?

The switch turned out very well for Contesti!

"The italian sixteen year old Daniel #Grassl became the first European skater to complete a quadruple Rittberger (4Lo) in an international competition (Golden Bear - Zagreb)." https://twitter.com/max_ambesi/status/1056603201133252611

Ambesi included a clip of Grassl's 4Lo (after Hanyu's) in this follow-up tweet: https://twitter.com/max_ambesi/status/1056689939839139840
ETA link to Grassl's Golden Bear FS from the live stream (opens with 4Lz & 4Lo): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXeenw8ERiE

Ambesi also had reported last year that Grassl was the youngest skater (15 in December 2017) to land the 4Lz cleanly in international competition at Golden Spin of Zagreb: https://twitter.com/max_ambesi/status/939599273632641025

Roberta Rodeghiero posted on her FB page back on August 13: https://www.facebook.com/robertarodeghieropaginaufficiale/
Hi everyone. After a little 'too many months of absence (desired, I preferred to get away a little) I think it's time to say a few words.
The past season certainly did not go as I wanted. The health problems did not allow me to train properly in view of what should have been my Olympics. With great regret I have gradually withdrawn from the various races and I preferred to stop, get away for a while from the ice world, and recover physically.
Now I'm fine, I resumed training regularly for a few months and I have a great desire to return to compete.
So for all those who wonder if I stopped skating the answer is: NO AND ABSOLUTELY NO. Skating remains my greatest passion and I have no intention of saying goodbye to those wonderful sensations you feel when you compete.
I do not know exactly how long it will take to return to 100% of the form, I only know that as I have always done in these 20 years of career I will put all the soul, love and determination that I have towards this wonderful sport.
See you soon!
ETA that she hasn't competed internationally since early 2017 (9th at Euros and 6th at the Winter Universide) and is listed to compete this week in the CS Inge Solar Memorial in Innsbruck, Austria - best wishes to her!

Any news about Giada Russo? I took a look at her instagram account and saw a lot of photos of her studying - does it mean she retired to pursue her university career, or is it just a temporary break? It would be a shame, she is great at interpreting very difficult music which makes her so pleasant to watch (even if the jumps do not really work for her...).

I always had the hope, she might switch to ice dance. With her musicality and a good partner :swoon:

6 sr dance teams listed for Nats: G/F, Tessari/Fioretti, Moscheni/Fabbri, Valersi/Vasilets, Calderone/Papetti, Giada Russo/ Jaime Garcia*

* Waiting for Jaime's release from the Spanish Fed, so I guess they'll skate and they'll get their scores but they probably won't be included in the official results? (According to this GS post, that happened when they skated at their regionals.) Anyway, I hope we get some video!

^ Giada&Jaime's RD looked pretty good! They got 53.16 points, but more importantly, she seems to be enjoying the tango :)

The live stream is still up (for the time being) and can be rewinded. They were the first team to skate, followed by Charlene&Marco who got 82.48 points: https://youtu.be/bmfDHaTJbK8

results page: http://www.fisg.it/upload/result/4732/index.html

ETA: Oh and I guess Jaime already got his release from Spain? Because looking at the live results page, their nation is ITA with no asterisks:cheer2:

So Kostner seems to be out of Euros as of latest news, and ITA fed still not named any ladies for the event.
Has anyone some clue what's going on here?
Another test skate, throwing a coin,...?

ITA might be down to one spot after that event again.
(not that they would need 2 without Kostner :shuffle:)
