Hi guys, any idea if Kostner's 2018 worlds SP performance is anywhere to be found online? If I'm not mistaken, she nailed that programme in Milan, but I only seem to find fan cam videos on youtube. Thanks!

Rodeghiero withdrew/didn't compete at all at Egna Spring Trophy this past weekend. Marina Piredda won the bronze in Senior Ladies.

New interview with Daniel Grassl from Absolute Skating. Notably, he doesn't know yet whether he'll do jr or sr GPs, but he says he'd like to win jr Worlds. So it sounds like he may compete both jr and sr again.

Just realized Italy qualified 3 men for Euros 2020 (and of course 2 men for Worlds 2020)! Well done!

New interview with DM&G (Italian only).
https://www.oasport.it/2019/04/pattinaggio-artistico-nicole-della-monica-matteo-guarise-vogliamo-essere-unici-la-strada-e-tracciata-verso-pechino-2022/?fbclid=IwAR3r2e0m7Ixc2Tf1YzDsV9u6G6tZZ6eMQCfvbm2K8Rtn4ZxKUZl6jeqKem8

They basically talk about the season which was overall a good one for them. Then they talk about Worlds, he saying it was a difficult competition. He got in with an ankle injury and then in the crash with Vanessa he cracked his rib. All this influenced the competition where the lost several points because of technical mistakes from him specially. It was difficult to get back to train for WTT as the rib is still bothering him but they did their best and train as if it was for another World championships
Then they are asked about the judging system and they say it favors clean programs.
If any of you is interested, I might translate more.

@Tinami Amori originally posted this link in the Russian news thread:
Daniel Grassl gave an interview last week, in the Russian "sports-express".
He is training for a week at Alexei Mishin's camp, and planning to train with Tutberidze in August (they talked about it during Europeans), but have not set it up yet. Also talks about 4A and quint-jumps..
(google-translates well)

Italy’s Rizzo to train with Orser in the summer by Tatjana Flade (June 11, 2019): https://www.goldenskate.com/2019/06/matteo-rizzo/
Excerpts:
The 2018 World Junior bronze medalist, who has been landing the quad toe in competition this season, has been working on different kinds of quads—except for the Salchow—his least favorite jump. As training progresses, he will determine what other quad, if any, he can add to his repertoire.
“During the summer anything can happen,” Rizzo pointed out.”I will always continue to work on these new jumps. For me, it is quite easy to rotate all three — Lutz, flip and loop — so it depends what will happen this summer. I’ll for sure work hard to get one of these.”
Rizzo has chosen to skate to a Flamenco-style free skate for next season, using “Galicia Flamenca” by Gino D’Auri. He plans to work with Massimo Scali, a former ice dancer, on the choreography. He also wants to change the short program and is still deciding on selections.
For training, ... this summer, based on a decision with his team and the federation, he will likely go to Toronto to work with Brian Orser.
“I think that the new experience in Canada will bring me a lot of energy and motivation for the upcoming season that, in my case, will start with the Challenger series at Lombardia Trophy,” said Rizzo. However, the athlete estimates that he will spend 70 percent of the summer training at his home rink in Bergamo.

It's a shame they did not get to go to Worlds last season as Italy had the three spots and didn't use the third. Best wishes to him & Carolina.

Valentina Marchei finished her contract with Holiday on Ice this past April, and earlier this month she participated in the International Olympic Academy's 59th International Session for Young Participants for 2 weeks in Greece ("... And just when I thought that this would be the most challenging year of my career, it has turned out to be one of the best. You just have to keep swimming..."): https://www.instagram.com/p/By3RglRCBpH/

I just love her skating. Her limbs are beautifully extended and never stiff. I could watch her glide for ever.
