GPdF 2025 PBP - Rhythm Dance: “Rock Around The Cock”

It feels weird seeing Ian in an outfit like this. The skating skills are always strong, the choreography is okay but it's like they're almost stuck in this drama club high school project with everything they do.

It's like they took over where Lorraine McNamara left off. :slinkaway

Little trip by him, looks like he hit his heel in the midline and the score reflects it already.

He also gave a little jump in the twizzle, but hope the judges 'blinked' that moment

Well, if I had to choose between the two Vogue programs, I'd give it to FBCiz. BraSom just don't have the same presence and intensity that's required for vogueing. Plus, Ian also had a slight stumble on an element. These men today.

Emily Bratti/Ian Somerville 🇺🇸
Coach: Greg Zuerlein, Charlie & Tanith White
Music: Vogue, Walk 4 Me

Pattern Dance Type Step Sequence 2
Sequential TwIzzles W:3 M:3 (W:4 M:4 after review)
Choreo Rhythm Sequence

Midline Step Sequence W:2 M:2 - Ian caught an edge, and just barely stayed on his feet
Rotational Lift 4 (3 after review)

Ian hasn't outgrown his early Charlie White stage as he's still a little too on the edge to maintain control the whole time. This program is more interesting Fournier Beaudry/Cizeron, but the skating isn't as smooth or polished.

65.09 = 3rd Place

Battle for 4CC spots begins, don’t think they have the presence to pull off Vogue, excellent speed in twizzles but only level 3, he had off-balance troubles in midline and off sync on the stylized headstands

This program pales in comparison to Aboian/Veselukhin. They really ought to scrap it

American dancers always find a way to make everything high school pep rally. Please can we just get SOME avant garde or weird team in there?

This choreography looks choppy to me which makes them look very sloppy and lose speed easily, and their faces are too OTT the whole time. Trade-off of packing in the content, I guess.

Coach: P. Camerlengo, I. Shpilband, N. Deller
Music: Enter Sandman, Thunderstruck

Midline Step Sequence W:2 M:3
Choreo Rhythm Sequence

Rotational Lift 4

Pate/Bye don't generally strike me as rock'n'roll, but it was pretty good. Eva as a rock chick is pretty good at drawing the attention - the leap at the beginning of the pattern dance was nice.

71.32 = 2nd Place
