GPdF 2025 PBP - Men SP: “Too Many Cocks Spoil The Bros”

I hadn’t seen Malinin’s SP before, and I think the call and GOE on the 3A were gifts, but did he really do that entrance into the 3A? That was seriously ballsy.

The pathetic cartwheel at the end was a whimper, though. I don’t think we can chalk it up to irony,

That entrance into the 3A looks even better from the long axis camera angle that the production team at Lombardia used. Seriously just amazing and so very gutsy.

USFS should be ringing up Smuckers as a sponsor again. They could recycle those strawberry stuffies they gave out as "raspberries."
I have one somewhere still, Jeremy Abbott picked me out in the audience and gave it to me…and then I gave it to my dog as a chew toy

Egadze is 23 and looks 37. Maybe Eteri could prescribe him some Rogaine?

Good jumps, but every movement looks so labored with him.
He should just buzz cut it, acknowledge openly the 45-year-old hairline.
I'm trying to think in what circumstances you'd wear a buttoned waistcoat with biker gloves.
If it was a crossover program between Sing Sing Sing and whatever he skated to?
The crotch of his pants is giving me period anxiety.
I was thinking more diarrhea… not something you wanna see in spirals and camel spins…

Back cross rolls and then the 3A. Ballsy indeed.
I have to catch up later, but I just saw a picture of Ilia in costume and OH DEAR LORD. What IS that???
I would have sworn he was gonna do a Spartacus program.

And, now I have managed to see all of the Men's SP. I have no idea how I'll ever catch up with all of this competition before Cup of China. Guess I'll just have to just start picking and choosing a few of the Free Skates in each discipline. In the men's SP, I really enjoyed Pitot (new to me) and Tsuboi in the first group. I'm not sure how Miura finished ahead of Tsuboi in the SP but that's fs judging for you. In the 2nd group, I thought Nika Egadze was wonderful. Yes, he can work on his PCS quite a bit but his technique on jumps was great to see ... and kudos for the "nerves of steel." I can't decide what to think of Siao Him Fa ... watched his program twice and decided that I agreed with whoever said that, if you want to wear that costume and be that "artsy" (my word) you have to skate the program clean. Otherwise, it doesn't really work. His skating is "frantic" but I think I could really love this program IF he ever skated it perfectly clean. As for Ilia ... I mean, what is left to say about him? I'm starting to think he might be from another planet. That 3A out of those back rollovers blew me away. I thought his 4lz was clean too and, like Chris, was surprised he got level 3 on the footwork sequence. Maybe the judges just want to leave room somewhere to give him higher marks later on in the season.
