GPdF 2025 PBP - Men SP: “Too Many Cocks Spoil The Bros”

Wonderful 4F interwoven so well into the choreography! And the 3A too with the backwards steps right into it- that was cool. But I think maybeeeee the Axel landing was a bit cheated just based on all the ice that flew up and how he twisted out. I'd check the 4Lz rotation, too.

I'm ready to give him a higher composition score because a lot of these movements were fresh and right into and out of elements. Still think the skating skills themselves need work versus let's say any of Torgashev, Miura or even Adam. But very good!

last spin looked uncomfortable - otherwise he joins the ones without nerves of noodles.

Ilia Malinin 🇺🇸

4F
3A
Change Foot Camel Spin 4
4Lz+3T - bit of a step out

Flying Sit Spin 3
Step Sequence 3
Change Foot Combo Spin 3 (4 after review)

Not sure we've seen a back tuck in figure skating before. The combination was a little tight today, but the other jumps were good. Is he going for a sort of Alexander the Great look with the costume, and the hair? Overall the program is awful.

105.22 = 1st Place

That "raspberry" was almost a flop-berry. His cat like reflexes saved that move.

Not my favorite of Ilia's programs. The first part works better but he obviously identifies more with the second half. 🤷‍♂️

First minute of program: wow, this may be the first time I actually like a Malinin program! It's not high art or anything but I am enjoying both the jumps and the performance...

- oh, wait, it's just another qwad gahd white boy 'street' program with a backflip AND a cartwheel
:rolleyes:

Ilia is becoming more and more singular. The level of performance he gave, how his style now is some type of "earned arrogance". It's captivating. This program was full of tropes, of schtick, but I loved it. WOW.
