Ilia was brilliant - just on his own planet with the rest of the competition trying to orbit around him. Amazing. Insane. Every superlative there is.

Thrilled for Adam to comeback with an awesome free. Hope it keeps getting uphill from here.

Nika - got the job done in a lackluster field but his jumps and skating don't do it for me.

Lukas had a great comeback - love how explosive his jumps are. Cool program.

Pitot - find him a bit snoozy but solid technical skater.

Torgy - nice comeback for him too. Love the choreo sequence.

Tsuboi/Miura - the Japanese men imploded here. Tsuboi was completely drowned out by the big ponderous music and Miura never seemed to be able to find his footing.

I imagine so they don’t Sweat drops onto their partner and onto the ice as they are skating around the rink.

From what I understand, it's been a rule -- for quite a while -- that if men skaters are going to show their underarms, they must be completely shaved.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

I find it weird.

I remember commenting on the shaved armpits back when Adam Rippon did a program sleeveless. Other posters told me it was a rule that they had to be shaved.

And I've noticed other men doing the same, specifically Kevin Aymoz and Guillaume Cizeron. Some others, too.

It's something- Thunder. I had to use an app to figure it out after Worlds because that song kept playing in my mind.

Another rule for men. I can’t imagine there being rules like this for women… Not that shade of lipstick, dear. Show your legs so we can make sure they were clean shaven.

I’m surprised they allow people with tattoos.

Just finished the men. Exciting event with lots of placement shifts!

Ilia: For once I LOVE his free costume. Very classy looking and elegant on him. Love the shorter haircut that shows his adorable face better. Liked how it was styled here verses the short program’s overly poufy doo. Short program costume was overdone. But at least we get costumes from him unlike Nathan Warming up to this program. Chris said ShaeLynn and her film/music producer husband came up with the idea for his voiceovers/music production. Can’t imagine Ilia dreamed this up on his own I too think he is truly the most gifted athlete we have ever seen in this sport. I still want him to continue improving his line, extension and skating quality, but we forget he is still only 20.

Adam: Jumping up and down to see more of the Adam I know and love in the free skate. Well deserved silver. Keep it up.

Nika: Just uggh! I don’t understand at all what the judges see in him. Stiffest knees ever in skating.

Japanese guys: shocked at their meltdown here, such a contrast when their women all three killed it.

Torgy: Just want him to skate consistently so badly. Such a quality, quality overall skater. He should be consistently placing higher but for his head. At least he redeemed himself in the free. Kind of wierd music, but he usually picks unusual music. Except for Scheherazade, which I loved for him.

Naumov: Can’t help but wish he could have gone to train with Malinina/Skornikov. If he could get his jumps consistent and solid, he too would be right up there. So much quality and line, presentation. Gorgeous spinning positions. I’m sure it’s so hard not to have his dad coaching him at competitions….and it’s a huge adjustment. His short program is my favorite I’ve seen so far this season. Gorgeous classical piece, beautifully interpreted. Liked the free too, but the short is memorable.

Britscghi: Not my cup of tea, but he skated better here than I’ve seen from him for awhile.

I just finished watching the men’s free program.

Wow, what a spectacular costume for Ilia, he done brought it!

The costume more than makes up for the drab voice overs.

Wow, the technical ended up in nearly 130 points. Let’s see if it stayed there.

I kinda like his new haircut.

Finally caught up with the men's FS. Wow ... what an incredible skate by Adam! I hope that, sometime this season, we get to see him skate both his SP and FS perfectly clean. Dude is going to rack up some serious overall point totals if he can do it. Ilia, as usual, did his jaw-dropping jumps and his spins have definitely improved but I'm not a big fan of this program. It's my first time seeing it so maybe it'll grow on me. I wasn't bothered at all by the voiceovers until I learned that it was Ilia's OWN voice and then I thought, "well, that's a bit much" ... but, hey, it's no biggie. I'll get used to it. Soooo ... tomorrow, I will try to catch up with the dancers and women before the videos disappear.
