GPdF 2025 PBP - Free Dance “The Chicken Dance”

I like this a whole lot too. But absolutely nowhere near the blade mastery of the Italians. Don't care for the complete stop to do that upside down whatever move towards the end- wildly out of place for an otherwise nice program.

But major, major improvements and such a good set of programs this season.

all I could think about during the program is that Diana looks so malnourished. I know it is not easy from the outside to really determine if there is an eating disorder or not. I sooo wish that the ISU would make mandatory health checks on the skaters and promote a minimum BMI like in ski jumping.

I will say Davis and Smolkin were a lot faster and skated with more attack. Still don’t agree with the result I’m sure we’ll see, but it’s not a travesty.

It was so disruptive, and would be even if they had done it smoothly. Odd choice.

They really have improved. And this program is such a stark contrast to Guignard & Fabbri's in that there's so much better intentionality in the choreography and construction. There's style, there's interesting holds and positions, they're creating pictures. And the skating skills keep improving. As much as they're criticized for their relations, they are a strong team and I don't think their scores are underserved right now.

Davis/Smolkin - Immediatly following the elegance of Guignard/Fabbri the presentation looked a bit forced in comparison but skated well on the whole. The difference in their skill levels was obvious, but it's a nice program.

Davis/Smolkin

Level 3s on twizzles, can immediately see the basic skating isn’t as smooth as G/F. Impressive curve lift with him on one foot in shoot-the-duck-ish position, body alignment a bit off creating the dreaded diamond shape in hold, they seem to be coming into their own and not just politically

The judges are maxing out or nearly maxing out GOE for nearly all the non-step elements so far.

No bad notes. I like how they opt to do the one foot turns in different orders and he just holds that inside edge for a few seconds.

Easily above 130 and that's the beginning of the season. PCS already pushing 9.25 from the RD. I can't say it's really undeserved, either. They've come together super quick and this feels like an Olympic kind of skate, regardless of one feels it's derivative of stuff he's done in the past.

They have to be considered in contention for the gold medal in the Olympics.

Ok one bad note- the push-ups mid choreo step can go. Not needed at all.

God. You can tell Cizeron's not in 100% in competitive form yet, but the musical interpretation from these two is on another level from anyone else. They make it seem like "fitting the quality of your movement to the phrases of the music" is something they personally invented.

Liked it better than the rhythm dance but not wowed. Reminds me a bit of an Usova / Zhulin program. Pretty positions but him doing all the work and carrying her around. I still think the judges are marking the ghost of Papadakis and Cizeron rather than what they’re actually doing.

The judges went +4/+5 crazy for this program, no holding back. 130+ incoming. This was a coronation.

I like the program, it's good. It's very P&C 2017 evolved, even down to the costumes. The elements easily transitioned into one another. Nothing felt wasted. IAM knows how to construct programs that leave you with elements that stick, with lines, with images.

Fournier-Beaudry/Cizeron - Not personally to my taste, but wow. Being nitpicky I'd like to see more use of traditional dance holds, but that's a me thing and can't detract from what they put out on the ice. It held the attention all the way through and every little movement was finished and controlled. Wonderful.
