German Skating News - Part 3

I. Can't. Wait. To. See. What. S/M are planning. I don't want to see practice clips. I want to see it in competition where she really shines. I fear my favorite Russian team will not make it to Korea which is :wuzrobbed but also :cheer2: in that my loyalties will not be divided this time like they were in Sochi.

Does not belong in here, but who's that?
Stolbova/Klimov. If they compete against Savchenko/Massot, I'll be tearing my hair out wanting both to win.

So, I can't wait until Neblehorn to see what Aliona has up her sparkly sleeve for this season. I'm always afraid to check this thread that there will be video of one of their programs and I want to wait to see. But, like I can't resist a check to see what news there is. :shuffle: Pathetic.

Dastich:
- jumps solid and almost without mistakes
- SP dress will be changed (no clue if this already happened before JGP)
- FS music does not fit her (as if we not have known after last season; why did no one intervene when she kept it? :wall:)

Schott:
- good presentation both programs
- SP she only did the easier triples
- FS seems like she did not jump at all or only doubles
- FS to Schindler's List seems to be great

Bock:
- no jumps at all due to her injury
- presentation in both programs is good
- her FS to La La Land is praised
- is entered for Nebelhorn but will decide last minute if she skates due to her injury

Weinzierl:
- SP only 2flip and shaky spins
- FS to Four Seasons does not impress and lacks presentation, choreo is not good
- bad jumps in the FS

What a cranky article! :lynch: This person needs some positivity (and delusion) in their life! :cheer:

- the FS is said to be something never been seen before in pairs skating

Intriguing. Do they mean the music is never before used, or are they actually trying to create a program unlike any pair program before it?

Weinzierl medalled (bronze) event at Slovenia Open.
Results kinda underwhelming, but it's the first weekend of september, so I would not read too much into it.

It is kind of both. Savchenko/Massot's FS is simply stunning. I don't think the music has been used before and if so not by a well known skater. They want to look like ice dancers. The lifts are breathtaking.

It' s really worth waiting. The best pair skating FS I have ever seen. I can't imagine any team beating them in components.
Have you guys watched it and promised to be quite till nebelhorn?

This is not fair!

How can the lifts be more impressive than the Axel lift last season? This was the top draw of a FS lift.

I am so looking forward to see them at Nebelhorn, I keep hearing great things about their new programs!

This is kind of evil teasing:lol: And they were already stunning last year, can't wait!

Finlandia entries are up:
Fentz, Hase/Seegert, Urban/Steffen and Lorenz Polizoakis.

I know why Schott wants to do those late challengers, though I fear she might sneak in GP due some withdrawals, which are scheduled on the date of her scheduled challengers in Minsk or Warsaw. GP would be great for her, but I wonder where she could score higher.

I am really curious to see H/S and U/S.

Glad to not have this problem. Your favourite russian couple isn't my favourite russian couple, and, I have nothing but hopes that my favourite russian couple deservely won't be winning over S/M.

Thank you so much for the news.
I remeber last year, Savchenko posted quite a lot of IG videos, expecially of her solo jumps. But then things didn't turn out quite as well as I had hoped. I might be wrong, but I think Savchenko only cleanly landed one, ONE, triple throw in the entire season. Very costly.

Now, I'm hoping for a reversed result, I'm hoping they saved all their good landings for when it counts.

Oh my, I can't wait!! :cheer2:

(though part of me fears this new dance direction could be the beginning of the end of Dance being a separate discipline from Pairs :( )

Maybe they're skating to a poem...something with mostly words? I cannot wait to see what this is all about. Then again, eislauffan mentions "music."

Ice dance with throws and jumps. This is exactly what I want!!! Lifts and Pirouettes are a bit too mechanical especially those from weak pairs.

JGP Poland entries:
I am kinda surprised Marold got assigned to a 2nd JGP and that the german fed does not give another girl a chance.
Jagoda, as expected in men, Thomalla/Kunkel in pairs and Bittner/Lebed in dance.

Welcome to DAIRS, the new discipline combining Dance and Pairs! :dog:

Could be Marold was that good at the junior test skate or the other ladies that bad ;)

That's what I think too. There are no other junior ladies in Germany that deserve to go to a JGP. Let's see if Marold manages to make it in the top10 at her first JGP. But even if not I don't think they will send some other girl, except Isaev would be outstanding at Riga JGP, what I don't expect.
