German Skating News - Part 3

Entries for Junior Nationals are up and Isaev, Hocke and Dastich are all entered again so it looks like a skate off for the Junior Worlds spot after all.
Bock is entered but I guess with her season ending injury her name just hasn't been removed yet.

We are up for the pairs debut of Lena Kreitmeier and Anton Kempf too!

Hocke is at the entry list of Torun too. I guess she will prefer to get more experiences in the senior category, which seems to be a good idea. It is only between Dastich and Hocke for Junior Worlds anyway and although Hocke could beat her with clean programs, but not by 20 pts. So Dastich seems to be save for JW and Hocke has the EYOF spot (because she is age eligible and Dastich not). For Isaev it will be hard to get on the junior podium this year. Just 2 or 3 triples in the FS will propably not be enough.

I have a feeling with Bock not being able to compete due to injury the season plan might change for both Hocke and Dastich. Bock could have knocked Dastich off the Junior Worlds team so the German Fed may very well already have agreed and confirmed some assignments with the skaters at German nationals.

Not sure what is up with Isaev this season growth spurt / injury but she is definitely not attempting the harder triples as much as last season.

You are probably right, decisions concerning JW after the injury of Bock are pretty clear. Concerning Isaev it looks like puberty hits her. Dastich, Hocke and Isaev have been the only juniors able to perform all triples (Bock of course too, but she is more of a Senior). Dastich and Hocke continue to do all of them. Isaev has done only toe and loop (pretty unstable) this season, maybe one lz at the beginning of the season. But she looks as if she has gained some weight, which we all know makes it harder to jump. But who knows, maybe she will be back at Junior Nationals at her home town...

Dastich and Hocke continue to do all of them.
Hocke with triple flip? must have missed that all season ;)

Is it ensured Schott will be ready for Euros? Or Is Torun a(nother) senior warm-up for Hocke, if she has to jump in for Ostrava last-minute?
I cannot see Dastich going to euros, as she is obviously only going the international junior route this season.

Bear in mind that the skaters who already competed at Senior NAtionals dont count towards the Junior Nationals Championship result. There are there as part of the JW qualifier but they dont count for determining the Champion and medalists ;)

this is such a silly decision...but as usual, it's german fed.
no surpise at all :P

Hocke has done 3F at Nationals in the FS, but she fell. Last season she has done 3F in both programs. I have seen her practise at Nationals and all jumps looked pretty good. It seems that she is just missing the stamina to do all the triple jumps in one program with all of that choreography, interpretation and transitions, good steps ans spins. She probably needs some more time to manage all of it. Euros would probably come zu early for her, but she is definetly fun to watch and a girl for the next years. Schott has started her practise again and I'm sure she will be back for Ostrava.

I think this year it will be different. Competitors of Senior Nationals are allowed to compete at Junior Nationals. Thats what I have heard.

Schott has started her practise again
At least, though time is running out.

I try to keep my expectations low and pray she might get another worlds-skate-off if she cannot beat weinzierl at euros.

I mean liebers and streubel are getting 2nd chances with injuries and very underwhelming seasonal results. So they better treat da Schott the same way :watch:

So Hocke obviously 'prefers' Torún and Dastich? I just hope she is not getting ready for Euros :yikes:

It's kinda bizarre when the 4-5 best junior chicks are just not there, isn't it?

Well :D once you have competed Senior its kinda strange to let them go back ;) but yes it would be so much more fun to have them there. Right now my money is on Marold and maybe Scheidt to win Junior Ladies though Isaev and Helleken could medalle if they can show what they can, stay on their feet and dont cheat on the landings :P

yap, that's for sure!

i have a soft spot for scheidt, so i would be happy seeing her winning, though it would be kinda :violin: when a three different triples free skate, all with < or << is going to win the national title :EVILLE:

Maybe Scheidt has finally fixed the ur problems... which would be great, because among the others she is way the best skater. Marold might be a pretty good jumper, but her ability to get components are poor. Still a novice skater. It's really a pity that Dastich, Hocke and Herceg are not there.

Looks like Herceg, Hocke and Streubel will be competing at Skate Helena

Hocke is really going for this Senior International now - wonder if she will really try to do EYOF as well.
It probably would be easier for Hocke to earn world ranking points there than in Torun. Although if she would have done a 3-2 combination in Poland she would have been 2nd after SP and would have had a chance of world ranking points... So this will be interesting. Double win for Germany would be great.
As far as Junior and Senior programs are not much different I see no point in not going to EYOF, if you have been qualified.

I don't know what is more depressive: Scheidt placing 6th at junior nationals in a weak field or 38pts are good enough for 6th place :violin:

so with Liebers, Fentz and Streubel at Torún, do we know if this is the worlds-skate-off? Or will we have a battle closer to Helsinki?

I don't hope so. They obviously have all not been at their best: Streubel, Liebers around 70 ans Fentz only 66. According to DEU Fentz gets World's if he places in Top10.

Ehm, Fentz Top10?
They set evertyhing right that Liebers gets worlds, don't they?
Not to mention, that in his current shape, Liebers would not place Top10 either :(

You are right. At this moment I would have bet on Fentz. His 3A are excellent and his 4T really good, also in combination. But he has to show that in competition. Don't know why this doesn't work out.
