press release of DEU about election: https://www.eislauf-union.de/media1/pressemitteilungen/366-neues-präsidium-der-deu?jsn_mobilize_preview=1

President Dieter Hillebrand was reelected (for four years)
as vice presidents were elected:
Florian Gerlach (Oberstdorf) – Finances
Reinhard Ketterer (Berlin) – Competitive Sports (Leistungssport) & Kommissionen

Article with a little background: https://www.eurosport.de/eiskunstla...llebrand-wiedergewahlt_sto6827563/story.shtml

Elke Treitz resigned as vice president 5 weeks ago, no reasons then given, cf: https://www.focus.de/sport/wintersp...dentin-treitz-zurueckgetreten_id_9034980.html

EDIT: Does anybody know, what's going on with the German Fed?

Obviously there are not even rumours why Treitz has resigned. At least I haven't heard some. Ketterer seems to be an odd choice to replace her as being responsible for competitive sports. He has done much work on the lets call it hobby-category in German figure skating, installing an extra U18 group that is allowed to take part at German Nationals (juniors). The higher competitive side of the sport doesn't seem much of his interest. Besides he is pretty old and part of the old system. It would have been nice to get some new blood in. But that chance is gone again.

Seems like Schwendinger/Wunderlich have switched to Fusar-Poli/Caruso.
Good move, as the last season was obviously no step into the right direction.

No more clown/mime programmes, more war horses - we'll see whether it's a change for the better :).

Bringing this over from the previous thread (posted May 30, 2018):
German Team Envelope is up.
There were a lot of changes in funding inside the german NOK, thus the lists are smaller:
https://www.eislauf-union.de/files/users/bettgenhaeuser/Bundeskaderliste2018-2019_VeröffentlichungHomepage-1.pdf

OK (A-Team):
Schott
Fentz
Savchenko/Massot
Hocke/Blommaert
Polizoakis

PK (B-Team)
Dastich
Marold
Weinzierl
Hess
Hase/Seegert
Thomalla/Kunkel
Koch/Nuechtern
Dieck/Mueller
Urban/Steffan
Schwendinger/Wunderlich

EK (no clue what that means)
Bock
Stoll

I am kinda surprised Polizoakis gets A-Status besides having no partner to skate with.
Great for the other A-listers to have a solid funding.

I miss NRW Trophy singles/pairs and dance again on this years roster.
Is the event cut off completely? :shuffle:

Any prospective matches for Joti yet? If not, who would you all like to see him with?
Nelli Zhiganshina!

But seriously....the difficulty in finding a partner for Joti is that he's pretty short. Kavita was only 5'1"...not sure how many ice dancers there are who are at a high enough level, short enough, and available. I can't think of anyone right off the top of my head.

If you have a closer look at the Olympic judging details for Paris SP you see Elke Treitz supporting Aljona/ Bruno while bearing Sui/Han down. The Chinese judge was now suspended by the ISU. I am just wondering why the ISU did not notice Treitz' scoring?!?

Do not want to question this Olympic Gold of my lifetime. Just wondering...

Joti needs a strong diva by his side.
I agree here; Schott sister looks like she has tremendous diva potential.
Anyone knows her dance skills?
But starting over with a no-name might be not clever either.

I can't see anyone 'free' matching, so... :shuffle:

I am just praying mueller/dieck getting some makeover in russia, otherwise I remain on #teamkochnuechtern

Thomalla/Kunkel are keeping their Elvis-FS :yikes:
New SP: Shatter me & Transcendence (L. Stirling) :shuffle:

Wonder how they progress.

Yeah, his stature does make it difficult. But did anyone else notice how his costume for the FD last season highlighted his biggest ASSet? It was breathtaking. I wish him many more opportunities to compete.

After all Joti has competed internationally for Germany at the biggest competitions and has been the national champion since 3 years. I think he won’t deal with some Schott newbie. I don’t think he will put himself in a position where he will give M/D or K/N a easy pass. I do have to smile though because it seems like since he’s not in everyday training that he gained a couple of kg. :D:D:D

I'll seriously take any warhorse (any!!!) over this!

Hater :p.

 that finally someone else besides me is giving a  regarding Treitz' judging.

To be honest, the Chinese judge's scores did not strike me as much as hers. So it's the three of us here ;).

Just went on icepartnersearch to see if Joti is still on... and he is BUT to find Ria Schwendinger on there was much more of a surprise for me at this very moment. Anybody knows more?
Judging on their last season, I am not surprised.
But with their switch to Milan and already the new programs infos out, I am kinda stunned though.

It's a shame Schwendinger and Joti Polizoakis are not height-compatible (she is listed as 172 cm tall and he 170 cm in their respective ISU bios).

Joti's latest IG post yesterday: https://www.instagram.com/p/BlTNJifjq9R/?hl=en&taken-by=jotipolizoakis

He thanks "national coach Martin Skotnicky, who was always at my side even in the hardest times of my career and helps me as much as possible, whether on or next to the ice!" and also wrote: "Of course, at the moment I'm getting a lot of questions about how I can continue on the ice ... unfortunately I can not comment on that at the moment! I think I need until mid-August time to make first decisions for the upcoming season 18/19."
