Indeed.

Unfortunately, the USFSA prefers to spend their funding on cardboard cutouts and salaries for their bloated bureaucracy.

Things were much more glamorous and civilized in the 90s,under proper leadership.

Lollll

I will say USFSA finally dropped a nickel and got a proper kiss and cry. After watching all of the Grand Prix I can’t believe I’m gonna say this I think our kiss and cry was the best. Although they could hire someone who understood how to work technology and have proper feeds of skaters friends and family appearing on the background that would’ve been amazing. I think my least favorite kiss and cry this time around were Canada and France

Please stop spreading the misinformation and lies. The cardboard cutouts are a fund raiser for memorial fund to support figure skaters, not USFS wasting their money. Every donor knows it. It’s up to $150 a seat.

Didn't see this Mishina/Galliamov interview that was published on Dec. 17 - "This season I wanted to prove that the victory at the World Championship was not accidental" (quote from Galliamov) - posted here:

T/M just crack under pressure, the moment I saw her eyes at the starting pose I knew there will be a mistake,
I dont know if "they want it too much" is right, its more like they cant help but compare themselves to others
the moment they saw M/G and B/K scores, they must have been spooked. Its mental and not even Tutberidze can change that.

P/K were lowballed and A/N Im surprised they got higher scores.

I still hope P/K make the podium, I have calculated they need T/M to make 3 big mistakes a fall in the SBS, big mistake in throw and a step out or aborted lift which is possible and B/K need a fall in SBS and a throw and P/K need to skate clean.

hope dies last for P/K, hope one of B/K or T/M are out of podium

Akopova / Rakhamnanin have good prospects next season.
Khabibullina / Knyazhuk its good they didn't get inflated marks, they will break up soon anyways coz of her height

Soloviev update:
On Tuesday night, Soloviev was beaten in Moscow after he stood up for the two-time European curling champion, his common-law wife Anna Sidorova. The athlete was hospitalized in the Botkin hospital with head injuries.
"So far (the state of Solovyov) has not changed. The head hurts and weakness," Bolotova said.
On Thursday, the court should choose a measure of restraint for those who attacked Solovyov. A source of RIA Novosti in law enforcement noted that the police opened a criminal case on deliberate infliction of moderate harm to health against two suspects. They face up to five years in prison.

Just because you don't like a particular pair, you must not wish bad for them. It may backfire(well, I hope it does).

everyone is entitled to who they like, Im not wishing bad for them
I'm just calculating the mistakes needed in order for P/K to podium.

I never even mention Boikova and Kozlovski's not so good and entitled attitudes.

The Olympics are more than 3 months after she left hospital. Though immaterial, as at this moment their fitness is in question, so selection is unlikely.
You never know. There could be a skate off between the third place finisher and them at the Europeans. But then there would be the problem who to leave off the team for Europeans. Sinitsina/Katsalapov or Stepanova/Bukin? If S/K don’t compete at the Europeans, they will be disadvantaged at the Olympics. S/B missed GP so they will be keen to compete at the Europeans, to get some competition experience this season.

I wish ALL the pair skaters well including Boikova and Kozlovski. They may get on some people's nerves but I still love them too.

Stepanova/Bukin competed on the GP this season?

Ups, I am sorry, you are right. Somehow I remembered that all three top couples were off, and that’s not correct. Only two out of three.
Which other couples are you referring to? Sinitsina and Katsalapov were on the Grand Prix, as well, and won both of their events.

Back to the topic, I think the Russians really appreciate Europeans and I don't see any of the Olympic-bound skaters being passed over so that skaters lower down the ranks can get a shot at a skate-off. If there's injury or a skater/team not feeling 100%, then maybe. But otherwise, if there are any last-minute decisions, I think Russia would do it with a domestic competition a la 2019.

Yes and Katsalapov got injured there, if you recall. Their coach said that he wasn’t able to put even his shoes on afterwards.

He was injured at a Russia Cup event. Skated both Grand Prix events while recovering.

Davis / Smolkin getting silver should solidfy their spot going to the Olympics.

they are well position to lead Russia's next generation next quad under Igor as he is also eager to be back in the limelight.
You cant blame D/S, The rest of russian juniors transitioning to seniors have been all flops S/A, S/N, U/A and E/E.

I can only see maybe two the russian-greek and russian-italian duos, but dont hold your hopes too high too as they too have deficits.

The question is whether Sinitsina/Katsalapov will be able to go to Olympics. If not, maybe even Khubardieva/Bazin will get their chance.

Sinitsina posted in instagram, they aim to be back at Euros, its the same injury recurring throughout the years
its about the tapes will be able to hold for the Olympics, Katsalapov may need another rest and massage, maybe they'll skip Euros too ?
