Totally agree. I see a good deal of improvement. She is skating to the music. It is like she takes just a breath of time and adds it to each element making it special and showcasing it....rather than running from here to there there....throw out an arm.....run over to the next corner throw out hand jump....repeat.
Becoming an artist to compliment the natural technician. I hope Trusova continues down this path of artistic discovery, and if she can put it all together, look out!

I was theorizing in the S/K fan thread that perhaps he fears if they go away, even just for a little bit with a legit reason, it will give the federation the excuse to make S/B their #1 team again.

Or maybe he's just flat out stupid and out of touch with reality :wall:
Yes, I'm sure that's been factored into the strategy, but I sense a good old-fashioned Usova-style @$$ kicking is now justified. :saint: :cold:

Maybe he's having another one of his dreams or visions. :(.

Plushenko didnt win anything. Valievas mistakes opened the door for Sasha. Just like when Sasha makes mistakes in her free skate others (Aliona and Anna) win. That the risk and reward business of quads and super tough free skates.

This was a minor event not nats or euros. Good experience for Kamila and Daria for sure. Sasha is looking good early this season and I would have written the same thing if she won the silver. In fact I am shocked that so many girls are in good form after such a disaster of an offseason with no or limited training due to *********. Any lady other than Kamila Sasha Aliona or Anna winning Rusnats would be shocking. Unles ISU changes the rule 1 of these brilliant talents wont be in the next winter olympics!:mad:

of course..he didn't :biggrinbo :biggrinbo Trusova won. Shame on you!!!and Tinami and all of them who said or support this opinion! Trusova did an incredible amount of work, developed, improved a lot, she had to overcome the difficulties of puberty. Look at her!! A beautiful lady who has retained her athletic abilities in spite of that. With this opinion, you diminish her, the work she has done. Shame on you again!
I recommend you start getting used to the idea that your adored Eteri and her team will lose some competitions because yes, Kamila wasn't perfect, but Trusova wasn't either! She can also improve in the season, her base value is much higher.

You don't foget Trusova overcome the puberty, restored her jumps after that big pause because of the quaratine and those became better but Valieva is before puberty or in it.

Daria is a wonderful skater and indeed, should receive the highest PCS but...she do not have (yet) the IT factor as Trusova or Valieva has. Daria reminds me a bit about a young Medvedeva so she might blossom in a few years or so. Everything looks very precise technically wise so I am interested to know if she is training a quad or 3A at this point.
Valieva is a great skater too but I just cannot enjoy all the leg in the air positions. Obviously, she is one of the most (or the most) flexible skater on the circuit right now but just as Liptniskaia at the same age, I hope she works more on feeling the music. Daria seemed to be much more into her music and I do not mind the choregraphy.

I admire Trusova for the fighter she is and fantastic to see her in such good shape after her growspurt. I agree it remains to be seen if she will improve under Pluschenko but so far, she is looking very sharp. The SP is showing a more different part of her skating and I like it a lot. The LP will always be less impressive due to all the quads she has to squeeze in. I hope she will keep the program to max 3 quads and work on the other aspects but who knows, perhaps she needs to attempt another one if someone like Valieva, Scherbakova or Kostornaia skates clean with their jump elements.

The Russian cup brings more excitement than the upcoming GP??!!

So happy to see Sasha Trusova smiling again! Congrats! Kamila is otherworldly. Why would she worry about this? She is the best skater in the world at this moment. When she hits, she's untouchable. I love love love Usacheva but her material is just so not up to her level. It's frustrating.

Apparently, Victoria Sinitsina already had a surgery on her knee (sometime during the off-season, I assume).

And according to TAT, Aleksandr Zhulin had a surgery on his neck not so long ago, hence the neck brace.

However, as jarring as the two exact musical compositions were played back to back, I really felt that Trusova had the 'performance'. Three quads and the energy it entails versus nice skater with no ultra-c. I prefer Daria by far, but she's just not going to get marks until she has an ultra-c. I really hope, really really hope, she has a 3axel saved up for later. She's a gorgeous skater.

Zag/Med/Tuk had to take a drug test, and the all passed.

Trusova posted a thank you note in her IG to her team. The media and the fans noticed that there is no mention of Rozanov in the list of coaches that the thanked.. ;)

TeamTutberidze renewed a contract with a well known Promotions Agent, Maria Shashina. Tutberidze wrote in her IG "for all communications and proposals for our team and our skaters, please contact Maria Shushina (contact info)". Maria Shashina is an international level promoter who works with shows in Japan, Europe and USA, Navka and Pluschenko.
Maria Shashina's advert in IG states the following "We are relatively new in the market, but already accomplished to earn the trust of our clients, to secure credibility among the athletes, and to gain an authority in the world of figure skating".
(that means, to me at least, two things. Tutberideze wants to make sure that her skaters will get booked for shows as soon as possible, and that she is planning to conduct her 5 cities show tour also as soon as possible.)

Kalle,
Lui
IMO the "IT" factor you either have or you don't. Think Alysa Lui she has it. It is not a matter of tech or better tech it is the thing that compels you to take notice the moment the skater skates out on the ice.

I hope this is not another Shabalin situation where she didn't take the 4 months necessary to recover, and now the knee is just f'd. I don't understand rushing back to training during a season like this. SIGH!

In the end Shabalin won a World Title and an olympic bronze medal so hope is not lost

Though I hope the Federation gives time to Victoria to heal that knee and if needed take the season off, come back next and win those medals they are interested in taking because rushing things only shows they are focused in the results and give a little for her own health

Liza Berestovskaya is in 1st place at present after the SP (Russian Cup #2)

Sofia Muravieva is in 2nd.

An article about the scoring in the ladies SP. Mentions that some skaters were robbed and others ‘gifted’.

MatchTV gets audience and fans by sensationalizing every event or FS occurance, and! they do have biases, very set biases. You can always expect them to praise certain skaters/coaches and find fault/negativity with certain others...

There are also articles and chats explaining the given marks.... ;)

And she does a great job with it. Very interesting routine and choreo; love her costume and the whole concept of the programme. She has work to do, and when she's finished it will be excellent.

I don't like this program for her TBH. And snake to Bolero? I mean, it's as random as it can get. I like her short program a lot, but not this.

Yes, and also plenty of chats who say the same what the article says - the judges tried really, really hard to give Valieva and Usacheva any point advantage they could. Luckily their cheating didn’t lead anywhere, because it was very hard to argue with the FS. Nevertheless, the way Trusova, Konstantinova, Frolova were marked, compared to the way Valieva and Usacheva were marked, that was unbelievable. And audience shouting ‘shame’....

Konstantinova was gifted compared to Frolova... :) that's what all say.

Judges were marking Valieva's and Usacheva's elements/components Level 4, their spins are excellent and that by Russian scoring system earns "reward points". Trusova's elements/components were not Level 4, and that was obvious. She also does not have excellent spins, and her "girly image" is very much out of character for her. She is strong and fast, and her jumps are solid, but she took risk with 3A and messed up the landing, and got flat edge call on the flip, and that sets as "fault" in judges' minds.

Tarasova who is no friend of Tutberidze (except for the show), was highly praising Valieva and Usacheva, and saying that Trusova skated "satisfactory/not bad at all". As we know, Tarasova has no problem yelling her opinion, if she thought Trusova was undermarked, she'd say it.... loudly... :)

Trusova received higher PCS than Usacheva... but I do agree they should have called her (Usacheva's)"!" in both programs on her lutz
