About Medvedeva's muscles not holding - from her own interviews where she said she hardly ever worked on building the muscles and that's what she have been doing with Orser on her first year there. No idea how does it compare to Tuktamysheva- don't recall her ever commenting on having/lacking any muscles.

I'm late to the party, but I am part-way through Meagan's interview on TSL and so far I can't see that she has said anything wrong or outrageous in any way. She is rightly pissed off if Eric blind-sided her. I also didn't know he sneakily tried to pair up with Aliona after 2014

I was never a Meagan-fan, but why shouldn't she speak out when her partner of many years doesn't give her the courtesy of letting her know he has paired up with someone else?!

I really don’t understand how that would have worked — neither federation would have released their skater for the other in such a scenario, they were both too successful.

I saw a performance by Med either just before or just after the reconciliation and her quality of movement and posture / carriage was the very best it's ever been.

Since she moved back to Russia permanently and publicly reconciled with Eteri, she has seemed a bit sad, her eyes are a bit dull. It is only natural as there are many emotions to process and work out. I hope she is going to be ok with this new set up over the long haul.

German fed was willing to release Aljona because they knew they had no partner for her. If she and Bruno had stayed with Ingo Steuer they would have competed for France because Steuer wasn't paid by German fed. Only when they changed coaches they decided to compete for Germany cause Aljona didn't want to switch countries again.
In her book she writes she didn't want to skate with Eric cause he lacked explosive power for twist and throws and she wanted to stay in Europe.

I think she was very sad at first, then she got sick. But now she looks great. She has new endorsements, she's been on tv specials and she was on the red carpet. She looks happy now.

Two very decent people can make mistakes. I put the mistake on Eric’s side - it really, really could have been handled better. But fans don’t need to attack Meghan to still support Eric or vice versa. It’ll be up to them if they want to work things out. Imo with Eric it can likely start with an apology but that is up to him.

I watched the interview and thought Meagan was concise and fair in stating her feelings. The one point she made a number of times was "have a contract". It is easy to assume you don't need anything more than a person's word when they are a friend. It certainly sounded like Eric was pursuing both shows with Meagan and training with Vanessa simultaneously and that fact was kept from Meagan. No one likes to feel like they are the last to know - especially when you are one of the key players. ........ Meagan deserved better from Eric.

Yes - and let's not forget that with rinks closed, and people at home, there is probably far less opportunity for in person gossiping around the rink. Sure, people Zoom and text but I doubt if information flows as freely as it did before, given the times we live in. With distance and isolation added to the mix, not hard to see how Meagan was pretty far outside the loop, in terms of what Eric was doing.

I thought she said Eric had approached Aliona in 2014 behind her back as well, but that it didn't work out. Aliona asked Meagan's permission to skate a number with Eric, but Meagan didn't realise that they actually had a try-out rather than just skate for fun.
