DWTS Season 21 cast rumors....anyone?

I'm hoping there will be an early double elimination so we can be spared a few extra weeks of Paula, Kim, Gary, Victor, and/or Chaka. But I'm hoping that either Paula or Kim goes first. They were both so bad I cringed the whole dance.

I think Kim will go first. She was dreadful and was utterly unapologetic about it, saying she'd have nailed the dance if only she was dancing with her husband. Tony also looked appalled that they got scores in line with how his celebrity danced. She's my prediction for first to go. Paula and Gary will probably go soon after. Depending on if Chaka redeems herself next Monday, she might last a while.

Next week 2 will be sent home. If I heard things correctly. Something about 2 full nights of competition -- early for the stars to learn 2 dances in a week, IMO, when they are still learning the basics.

Kim's salsa was like it was in half time... the tempo of their dancing was so slow and she put zero effort or energy into it. 4's were generous.

I just saw bits and pieces. Not looking too good so far! I want Tony and Derek to trade partners. Only fair.

Nick IMO had the best technique, but Bindi is by far the best performer. Tamar was my 3rd best, but I was a bit annoyed with Val (whom I love) - he seemed to be pulling focus a bit a la Maks and Mark, doing added little flair to moves that he didn't do as much as the past.

Victor is adorable, and I like the PenaVegas too. Army guy was ok, thankfully. He would have lasted a few weeks anyway because of the 'hero' thing, but I'm glad he's decent to be able to back it up.

When watching Allison and Andy, I couldn't tell who the pro was and who the star was, and not in a good way. Allison just does not move like one of the pros. Even her posture is distracting.

And also, does anyone else thing Julianne may have recently gotten botox? Her eyebrows didn't move at all and her face looked suspiciously smooth.

I have been saying the same about Allison for ages. I agree with the rest of your assessments except for Army guy - I think he's better than just ok.

Her posture is dreadful. And I'm tired of people saying that I think that because I don't understand contemporary. I have plenty of friends who are in contemporary dance troupes recreationally and their posture is head and shoulders above hers. I expect more from the pros than from recreational dancers.

And DWTS isn't a contemporary dance show (unless they happen to get it one week). Aren't some of the other former SYTYCD dancers/current pros contemporary dancers? Or at least non-ballroom dancers? All of the other former ones from SYTYCD have adapted much much better.

I'd much rather see Twitch than her.

Of SYTYCD alumnae currently on DWTS, Witney and Lindsay are both heavily cross-trained, but they auditioned on SYTYCD as ballroom dancers, same with Jenna Johnson and Brittany Cherry in the troupe. Allison's inclusion continues to baffle me because I can't think she's a big ratings draw alone, and she's doomed to mishap with anyone who can't bring at least some of his own comfort with the genre. I think Andy could have more potential than Jonathan did (and I think Jonathan could've been much better with an experienced partner), but already they've started off with her staccato, kind of oddly aggressive take on standard...

Allison is part of Derek's inner circle.

Could you explain?
I don't follow him that closely.
This goes back several years. Derek and Allison have been collaborating on choreo for a while, and Derek had Allison as his partner for a Masters of Dance segment tango in 2011. It's available on You Tube.

I don't get it. One would think his standards would be higher. And it's not like he doesn't have wonderful examples all around him.

Allison did get her Emmy nomination on a dance she co choreographed with Derek and she danced with Derek in a Macy dance but Derek does have other female dancer friends.

Alison is beloved in the tv dance community and DWTS wanted to take the show outside of ballroom because it felt after 18 seasons, strictly ballroom was limiting. It's not just because of Derek. DWTS and SYTYCD film in the same studio. They have a lot of co staff.

Regarding Allison -

I find her posture, flailing, and general movements grating to my eyes and my nerves. There are always female celebs on the show that as good if not better than she is with the dances. Her choreography on the standard and latin dances is sometimes so repetitive that it is clear her repertoire is severely limited. On a show where that is the case with most of the pros (repetitive steps), it must be limited for it to be so evident to me.

Her personality bothers me too, but no worse than some of the others on the show.

The fact that she is beloved has nothing to do with the fact that she can't ballroom dance & has terrible posture. And her Emmy was for choreography, not dancing. I think the criticisms are fair. No one is attacking her character.

I wasn't defending Allison. I don't want her on the show. I can barely stand her on SYTYCD (though I think she's a wonderful person and contemporary mover, she over emotes to the extreme for TV). I just don't think it had as much to do with Derek as was being accused.

Social Media is abuzz with video of Kim Zolciak screaming at Delta Airlines Employees Monday night. Seems she was late getting to the airport and took her frustration with her scores out on Delta. :angryfire

she's like a caricature of a horrible person. she makes me think i can live with paula dean one more week and that's an amazing skill.

As long as Kim goes home tonight I can watch the rest of them dance. They don't have to be great dancers just not whiners.
