Yes and yes.
I have to give the CFSA a lot of credit for not hanging onto those spots until the last minute, but instead releasing them so that the pairs fields can be properly filled. I also appreciate that they're getting their ice dance teams out to compete internationally.

Lin/Gao, Ren/Xing & Xiao/He are all competing at CS Trophee Metropole Nice this week, and Lin/Gao & Xiao/He are also scheduled to compete at CS Nepela Memorial next week. Ren/Xing competed at CS Budapest Trophy last week - 11th overall (12th in the RD, rose to 10th in the FD).

Oh I had not noticed all those Chinese teams were in France! Well there you go, all the complaining about no funds or whatever will hopefully stop (unlikely).

Huh, so Zhang/Jia seems like they're out because Zhang doped.

Commenters are saying the report says she was taking a diuretic. Absolutely nuts. Agree with the folks there who are saying "she's thin enough and didn't need to take this!" And absolutely horrified at the very real health concerns posed with taking these drugs. Good for the Chinese fans who are just as aghast as anyone in the West would be.

Boyang has a horrible SP, but so pleased he was clean here.

Needs to ditch Russell. Wilson's work was much stronger.

Nothing new yet, only it will be held in Jilin from 13th to 15th Nov.

CFSA Official Wechat account has posted info about Novice Nationals though( will also be held in Jilin from 10th to 12th Nov). So probably the info of Junior Nationals will be posted later.

Peng Cheng appeared as a coach for one of the teams.

There is a rumor saying that Sui had a trial with Li Ze'en, Sun’s former partner, but it ended up so funny as Sui, at the end of the day, had to be his personal coach for a day to teach him the basic skating skills as he is just so bad technically in all way and he barely lifted Sui.
I wonder what she's thinking. That's all I have.

Sorry to say, Sui is indeed delusional skating with this guy.
As a former single skater, this guy could barely land 3S and 3T in competitions. His skating skills are too awful to look at as a former ice dancer, and his strength in pairs is just laughable.
Very happy if they could prove me wrong, I just wish her good luck.

I just don't understand the motivation. It's not like there was some milestone or achievement she and Han didn't get. An Olympic gold (and a silver), two world titles, world record scores - one of the best pairs teams in a very long time, if not one of the best ever, IMO.

I'm not an athlete so I guess maybe I don't "get" the drive to keep competing as long as possible, but I'm struggling to understand why someone with that enormous level of accomplishment already would even be interested in returning as just a shadow of that former success.

She has the example, for better and worse, of Savchenko.

If she had the goal of being a partner/coach to gain coaching experience while still competing, that would be reasonable, because success would be measured differently.

It might be hard for some athletes, after winning such an important competition in their career, to transition from one position to another, as they are deeply accustomed to the athlete's lifestyle and schedule. I am not against the idea of coming back if you truly have a drive to achieve more. But what bothers me most is that Sui, this time, doesn't have a clear plan of planning her comeback: At first, I didn't believe there were not any pair men in China for Sui to team up with, as we all know that Yang, after breaking up with Peng, did ask Sui to skate with him. I also didn't believe that Han strings Sui along to let her believe they still have a chance to compete again. Han did issue his statement pretty early and every Sui/Han fan knows that Han didn't want to continue if he won gold in Pyeongchang. Even the Chinese Fed doesn't hold any hopes for them even though the current status of Chinese Pair Skating is hopeless because she has to pay for him to skate with her without any funds from the Fed(OH GURL....).

(The components score is a crime)
I actually really wouldn't say so, even if I think his basic skating is great and deserves more credit. 🤷‍♂️ I don't think he's a good performer as such, and the choreo is very bland. Still, I'm sure if he had more rep, the PCS would be higher.

Surprised by that skate from Jin. Apparently, he had to rush for treatment after the SP, so I didn't expect him to stay on his feet, let alone land much of his planned content. (well, the 4Lz was nearly a fall, but still).

Program is just meh (or maybe just bad, tbh) though, he should go back to his previous season's LP.

I just love that backward crossroll into the 3A from Daiwei Dai in FS, so effortlessly beautiful.
And this is his first time to try two quad toes and two 3A in competition, not a bad attempt at all.

Does anyone know what happened to Yudong? I thought he was training with Raf again, it's so strange. I hope it's not a recurring injury for him, I thought his choreo was decent in the SP actually, even if I'm not sold on his performance.

Nice, big 4S in the SP too. Big again in the LP, despite the step out.

Why didn’t she skate with Jin if he wanted to continue?
