2025 U.S. Nationals in Wichita, KS & Skate America returns to Allen, TX in 2024

With e-tickets, lanyards are things that the next gen will look at and say “WTF is that for?”
I don’t there there is one next gen person here that actually bought a ticket. lol I connect them to my keys and stuff like that. I never liked walking around with tickets around my neck lol

There is a pin. Although it is not terribly interesting to look at.

Programs are $21, for anyone wondering.
I’ll go check again. I asked at the table and she said no they didn’t. I don’t like programs because it will just be put in a box somewhere. I like to display pins on a cork board.

Does anyone know why the Junior competitors names are no longer put on the banners around the rink? Now you only see the Senior teams names. I know the Junior skaters would love that recognition.

Are these USFS-produced banners or fan-made?
The brightly colored ones that circle the ice. They say Welcome to Wichita and also mention Prevagen US Figure Skating several times. They do put the Senior Teams names on the ribbons around the ice but no Juniors. I’m old and don’t remember their names halfway through their programs so that would help me.

You mean the electric display boards?

I called USFS and the official answer is no, for the reason given earlier in the thread, ie no seating. Disappointing after being able to see practices last year, but maybe that was an exception?
I have been able to watch practices at the practice rink in 2004, 2006, 2009, 2012, 2016, 2018, 2019 even if it was just one row of bench seatings. Just another reason to avoid nationals next year if they are trying to make this the norm.

Anyone at the event was the top half of the arena on the judges side always uncovered? I didn’t notice it before but people were up there for the jr ladies so maybe they are trying to fill out the arena more.

are you talking about the balcony? A bunch of school kids were there and left before the last group of jr ladies

Yes I don’t remember the being open at all. I thought the curtains were down around the entire arena. I hope they fill it even with school children. More people in the seats it always good for the event!

In 2019 fans weren’t allowed into the practice rink, but my friends and I went down there anyway since it was in the arena.

There were people up there tonight (not the kids from earlier). Maybe it was a giveaway as I don’t see an option to buy up there.

Edit: Just looked this morning and they are selling upper level, judges side for $18. Fees are much less at box office, $7 vs $15 online.
