Other than Max's program, I was equally devastated by Isabella Aparicio, I think because so many people are (or were) polished seniors, and she represented those developing skaters who were lost too early. Coping with all the emotion of losing her brother and father and then surely battling nerves to skate in front of 15,000 people... what a beautiful hero she was. I had to pause Peacock and have an ugly cry after her program.

I finished watching the show last evening, I couldn't watch the whole thing in one sitting. It moved me and watching Max and Johnny and Ye Bin Mok and really almost everyone had me weeping.

On a more trivial note it was lovely to see Amber Glenn do a classic Layback spin. No Bielmann position no contortions just a few revolutions with a perfect free leg position. She has really developed her skating in the last season or two.

The ISU has published a story on Legacy on Ice:

Any idea how much was raised so far? I read that the supporting company donated $100,000.
I was very touched how they included first responders at the event and will share funds with them (for education and awareness?).
As posted above, Jackie Wong indicated the benefit raised $1.2 million and the auction was still open at that point. Most of the auction material was sports memorabilia or events donated by Washington area teams. Hockey star Alex Ovechkin attended and went on the ice for a group photo with the skaters and there was a lot if his autographed stuff in the auction.

Monumental Sports not only underwrote the costs such as providing the arena, I read they also donated $200k. Owner Ted Leonsis was quoted in an interview saying he wanted to help the children impacted and that you can't forget the ongoing costs such as future education

I barely recognised him either. Then he started moving and I said, "ah, yes. That's him."

He did doubles in the program but Jackie reported he did triple toes in the warmup. Not bad for a guy who's nearly 50.

I watched some of the programs last night and absolutely sobbed watching Maxim. Especially at the beginning, where he was clearly taking his parents' hands.
The start of his program got me too -- two simple movements that are just heartbreaking.

My favorite skating move of any discipline. That’s why I dislike code of points. A classic layback, and a classic spiral position like Nicole or Sasha or even Michelle or Nancy.

I agree, the classic layback spin is beautiful. However, when I think of myself spinning in that position, I think I'd get nauseous. (I'm not a skater, just envisioning how it might be.) The combination of spinning and being bent backwards like that to the point where I don't think I could breathe makes me think I'd probably pass out. Spins where I'm standing straight or bent forward don't do that to me, just the ones bent backwards.

Just wondering- when was Michael Weiss shown? Did he skate? Who were the ice dancers (or pairs skaters??) in the group number at the end. The woman had blonde hair & the man had dark brown hair, wearing a purplish top, I think. They weren't a very young-looking pair. It was an amazing show, & I've watched most of the PeacockTV broadcast a couple of times so far.

Molly Cesanek & Yehor Yehorov.

Michael Weiss & his daughter, Annie Mae, introduced one of the performers - can't remember who though.

Hopefully they'll come back after the NBC broadcast at the end of the month.

This is one time I would have hoped that either the artists granted streaming rights for the performances or NBC paid for it - it's also no longer available on Peacock.

Looks like the USFS has already restricted access to the Legacy on Ice videos they were posting on their YT channel. I can't find any of the clips and the link to the full show has been changed to "private".
I noticed this this afternoon and was hoping it was just a regional thing but I guess not :/

It was gut wrenching to watch him sobbing after his performance. I can't imagine seeing it in person. I was a mess through the whole show, but that moment just got me.
Those tears were needed for and by Max. And all the support. He sees and feels he's not alone in the hurt of losing his parents. It was a healing moment which he'll take with him as he goes through a long time of healing and finding his way.

Yes, I was impresssed and moved by Isabella's skate. I'm so glad she was included even though her skills maybe aren't at the same very high level as the rest of the cast. I'm sure she felt a lot of pressure to skate in such a big event with all these world and olympic champions, and she gave a wonderful tribute to her father and her brother.

I was a little surprised not to see Nicole Kirsanov. I hope she was invited to skate, but would understand if she might not have felt up to doing so.

ETA: I just came across this performance of Nicole at Rockefeller Center in February. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JcrlKEXz2uA

In addition to Nicole Kirsanov, siblings of Sean Kay gave solo dance performances at the Rockefeller Center show.
Skyler Kay (novice), Samantha Kay (junior), and Nicole skated the final three individual programs .. and then all skaters in the show gathered on ice for a group tribute to those lost on Flight 5342. 💔

I have a program called PlayOn that will record streaming media and will save it on your hard drive. I recorded a ton of gym events from Paris last summer that way (like all of the RG, for example), all from the Peacock streams.

I did record the LOI show, just haven't watched it yet.

Someone shared the complete video file on Twitter and I downloaded it. If anyone wants to watch it, let me know. I'll upload it for you.

Here is a link from Mega: https://mega.nz/file/kkUEzRwZ#-Di_1S6-udvSChvg6DLxSFWBkt4ha0VYlmK0NkztsJE

Please let me know if it works. Otherwise I can upload it on a different platform. I'm trying to find the kind person on Twitter who made this available. And the quality is good. If you don't have it yet, I recommend watching it with VLC Media Player as that can play most files with sound.

Update, found the kind Twitter lady who shared it:

We arrived early and Cesanek/Yehorov did a full program to music before the event got started. And There was a group on the ice when we came in. Seemed more official than just a warm up so we weren’t sure if the event had started early, but it was just a bit of “pre-game” I guess.
