I think they will be fine with the four comps. Its not like they have much competition in reality.
I think the issue is more to do with world standings points - at this point in time they will be in the 3rd to last group in the OG RD.

I'd love a tidbit to know whether they've kept the Tango FD ;):)
Gadbois is very well trained at keeping that private. Romain is a very experienced ice-dance politician. Even the Armenian team would not tell me! ;) We'll have to wait a bit more for the official release.

As far as World Standings, there are a lot of points to gain in the GPF in Osaka and Euros in Estonia. That is another logistic nightmare to deal with before the Olympics.

Copying over these relevant posts from the JGP thread:

So... Japan won't send any skaters to JGP, Lombardia or Autumn Classic (Miyahara will withdraw).

They're planning to send skaters to Asian Open, but that will depend on circumstances then.
Satoko has been training in Japan for months. Possibly the plan was for her to go back to Canada to resume training there, and that is why they entered her at ACI. It now seems they have decided to keep their athletes training at home, hence the withdrawal.

How long do we have to wait for GP assignments?

Dang... at this rate, ACI might be in danger of not being considered a Challenger in dance as well!

At what point does Skate Canada open up some dialogue with the USFS and ISU about just transferring all of their entries in all 3 disciplines to US Classic and give it Challenger status instead?
They're still fine for dance at the moment. 9 entries from 5 countries. Even if the two Chinese teams end up WDing, it would still be good. They need a minimum of 6 entries from 4 countries. So hopefully not going to be a problem.

Pre-emptively feeling bad for the one who ends up not medaling.

Never, because that doesn't benefit them in any way.
Can you help me keep up to date. if both of those teams live and train in Canada, at least I think they are still training there, why are they withdrawing from ACI?
Papadakis & Cizeron are apparently going to do French Masters de Patinage as their first event, and may or may not do a later Challenger.

We haven't been given any explanation for Fear & Gibson withdrawing.

I think the issue is more to do with world standings points - at this point in time they will be in the 3rd to last group in the OG RD.
Well, they're obviously not going to be way down there. There's never that much reason to worry about where a top team is in WS points at the start of the season. (Though if things get cancelled for the crud, then it happens & we all just have to recognize that the WS point system will be off the rocks). The European teams will have major international points in Europe. And if you're going to the GPF, that's extra there which most teams can't get. Even if P&C end up in the 2nd to last group in the Olympic Games, that's something that happens every Olympiad to top skaters. It's not ideal, but if you have the reputation--which they clearly do--the marks usually come in. Plus, then you don't have to go up right after your major competition brings in a record-breaking score. Which happens during the Olympics. It will matter much more what P&C's head-to-head results are coming in from events during the season.

If P&C have something to worry about in skipping the Challenger Season, it would be facing tough head-to-head competition on the GP. If they do not compete internationally elsewhere, their first non-home event will be against Hubbell & Donohue (and Stepanova & Bukin) in neutral territory in Italy.

This would not be a great place to learn that your level 4 spin is actually only going to get approved for a level 1.

(Ditto goes for Hubbell & Donohue if they do not do a CS. In their case, their first GP would be a head-to-head with Chock & Bates at SA).

I wish at least JSF entered the ice dancers, since they are all based in North America.
I don't get it!

Maybe Komatsubara/Koleto don't feel ready to compete yet? At least Muramoto/Takahashi are entered in a Florida club competition this weekend - thanks for the info you posted in the latter's cheer thread :): https://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/th...hashi-cheer-thread.107785/page-2#post-6043533 (eta: @YukiNieve has posted the info in the U.S. Club Competitions thread in Kiss & Cry)

The latest nebelhorn info is that as of now people can spontanuously buy tickets at the rink, but nothing is guaranteed.

Will it be open to the public? Nebelhorn isnt so I am thinking about coming to Finland.
I already bought my ticket. šŸ¤© So yes! At least unless something changes drastically... but right now they're considering opening up more rows and not the other way around. Please come to Finland! :cheer: We'll have our usual great crew along with @Finnice and others!

In general, the rooster is awesome, no wonder. Too bad Norway aren't even trying. I mean, Iceland and India is....

Of course, Krasnopolski will be there, with another partner.
