It's in the thread right below the one you just posted ;)

But Japan is switched around most likely to A) keep the continents together in events of two and B) because the Final is there a few weeks later

How long do we have to wait for GP assignments?

Personally, I've always thought that the GP events should be grouped by continent. I'd have probably switched COC and IdF but, either way, I hope that we see the calendar having the GP events grouped by continent going forward beyond next season.

That’s a good idea especially when skaters have back to back assignments where they would not have to travel as much

🙏 for Vegas again!
Given current vaccination rates (not just U.S. but around the world), I'm not sure we'll have a regular GP season in the fall. If not, I would imagine USFS would choose a regular rink, like Great Park Ice in Irvine, SCOB, or the new rink in Leesburg, VA, where rental would be a lot cheaper. But most likely, the next normal SA will be in Vegas - after the Orleans hosted both SA and Nats (likely incurring losses), I'm sure USFS has promised them a future event.

They were going to incur losses no matter what given than even there are still plenty of crud restrictions for the casinos and hotels in LV. It's not like they're holding concerts or sporting events with any crowds there yet. I would bet the Orleans was more than happy to host both SA and Nats this year for the media publicity alone.
