Sorry, have not read the thread but have KMT and Michael retired? Why were they not at Worlds? Seems odd to miss such an opportunity with no Russia or China
Post #460 from @Colonel Green explains what happened and their decision to not be at Worlds.Sorry, have not read the thread but have KMT and Michael retired? Why were they not at Worlds? Seems odd to miss such an opportunity with no Russia or China
“We’re just happy to be here, thank you to the ISU and Estonia for having us,” said McIntosh. “Our program was not perfect, but we’re happy we got a medal.”
Mimar added: “Coming here we knew we have a chance to make the top five.” The Canadians will move up to the senior level in the upcoming season.
Marcotte said, "Of course, there is always the big challenge of trying to find the right music, choreography, and packaging.”
It is especially challenging when he defaults to his sister.
Not the best audio - at least for me - but well worth the effort to follow it. I like the fact that Kirsten identifies the factors that lead to her eating disorder without naming names or establishing blame and does not want to come off as a victim, and although she is open about her struggle, she doesn't. She competed in 3 Olympics, won a silver medal, and then went through a very tough period in the sport. This past year clearly did not go as they had hoped but she seems happy and content. I am not sure if they are retiring but she and Liam have a big trip to Europe planned for the summer and her delightful smile was in full display throughout the interview. She is turning 30 now - so thanks to that little 8/9 year old who dared to dream big.Kirsten M-T will be on Kelly Rippon's IG Live at 7 pm ET tonight: https://www.instagram.com/p/CcehDgurxJD/

I agree, I always liked his skating but in this video his edges and flow definitely shine.IMHO Trennt is amazing. He has an exceptional qualities as a pair skater.
Evelyn Walsh (May 13): https://rss.com/podcasts/wide-open-spaces/486264/Emma Bulawka, 19 (6th in Senior at 2020 Canadians, last competed in the January 2021 Virtual Skate Canada Challenge, placing 13th) launched her "Wide Open Spaces" podcast earlier this year
ETA: Near the end, she mentions she & Trennt are working with a new choreographer (without naming him or her) and will have a different themed program from what they've skated to in the past and that she's looking forward to the 2022-23 season. She has two more years of university left and is interested in studying sports psychology. In this episode, I talk with Evelyn about the importance of elite athletes surrounding themselves with a team that supports, believes and sticks by their side through the darkest of times. In sport, as well as after. Those are your people. She shares some of the highs and lows of this last season and how she handled the added element of potentially qualifying for her first Olympics. She also opens up about her own struggles with not fitting into a certain pair skating ‘mold’ and how after she began working with a sport’s psychologist, her perspectives shifted, which allowed her to tune out self-doubt. We talk about how we, as athletes, can progress and promote longevity and positive body image for women in all sports. And how working with a sport’s psychologist will give you the tools needed to rise from the toughest of obstacles, like both of us have done and continue to do.
