RUS junior pairs are killing me it this season! So much class
All top4 teams (M/G, K/I, P/R, A/K) are so so good, I can't even decide which one of them I like the most!

All have a modern look but still could go classic russian too, I absolutely love that
Can't wait for the future (battles).

I fear for Panfilova becoming Mariusheva 2.0 though

But then again...it's not surprising, considering Kovtun didn't even know the name of the music and just chose it because he thought Plush's SLC FS had "cool music".

I totally disliked the first minute, as it was just totally non-choreo, focused on the jumps. regarding his long break and the 3 quads to start it was clever though.
Overall this was pretty to come back.
I like the SP way better, as the entire FS seems still somehow not ready. Steps have nice choreo-moments though!

I'm just glad he's back after the injuries. Fortunately for him the senior Russian men are all over the place. If he can get to Nationals, he has a chance for real redemption. I hope he can do it.

Russia really needs to send Kostiukovich/Ialin to get their senior TES minimums somewhere! They did a 4tw today but even without it, their TES is very competitive with the top teams. Frankly, I also don’t think the PCS gap between them and Efimova/Korovin is as big as the scores show here

K/I are stunning! Seriously!
I have a feeling RUS fed is going for B/K for 3rd spot.
As much as I love E/K, her jumps and his lifts are a mess. Both seem not to progress at all

The second to last group at Russian nationals last year was the best, with B/K, M/G and P/K all going clean. Now you have those 3 teams, plus K/I and A/K. They are HUNGRY, have the same or harder content than the top teams and eager to prove themselves. I think B/K are the best when clean but they’re not the likeliest to skate clean. I’m excited to see this battle

They aren't getting any younger and they don't have the laser focus of Savchenko. This means there will chances for Russian sweeps. I like Zab/Enb, but I also think the younger pairs are going to push them aside. Tar/Mor should stay on top through 2022, but there is going to be a battle for the other spots at Europeans, Worlds and in Beijing.

Mixed feelings about these scores. Kostornaia and Trusova are locks for junior and senior nationals. Gubanova is not. I wish those who are assured of places on the Nationals team wouldn't do the internal comps. But, Kostornaia is one of my favorites so yea her.

Kostornaia is simply stunning; I approve Trusova's jump content, but Kostornaia's overall skating is on a totally different level.
I am in love, since I first saw her. @Hanna would be proud of me

I am really hoping for Gubanova and Nugumanova! These are stunning skaters, with easy Top5 Euros potential, and Nugumanova did not even get a challenger so far

Alena deserves first place. She does everything well. Sasha's spins are quite mediocre compared to Alena. Her biellmann comes to a near stop in her layback spin. Maybe she should forget about the biellman just get level 4 without it because it really ruins the effect. I'm happy for Gubanova. She needs to be seen internationally, she's good enough.

Absolutely. And there is still plenty of decent pairs in juniors that will have to move to seniors within the next two three years. Even if only half of them survives puberty, injuries and splits, it looks that within the next few years Russian seniors pairs will be pretty full and fighting between themselves for the top three spots to get to Europeans and worlds.
