At last, Canada might win a Youth Olympic medal.

Canada and the US are guaranteed a YOG medal since the way they're doing the team event is that they're taking the 3 highest points across the 4 disciplines. In each discipline, first place gets 8 points, second place gets 7 points, so on so forth. Thus, since Canada and the US are the only two teams with pairs, they are guaranteed 8 or 7 points from that event.

Interesting that Switzerland did not enter a dance team when they do have an age-eligible one. If they had entered the dance team, they would have been eligible for the team event. Since Switzerland did not an enter a dance team, Italy got to enter a team instead.

Well baby French did lose to Ambre & Samuel twice after JGP I believe? So I’m not surprised.

French Jr Nats are scheduled on 12-14th of January in Nice.
I hope that means Jr Worlds and WYOG are split between Mouaden / Bigot and Ambre Perrier-Gianesini/Samuel Blanc-Klaperman as the latter may skip Jr Nats and there may not be another occasion for both couples to skate in the same competition prior to Jr Worlds.

Edit : figure skating is scheduled in the second part of the WYOG, both couples should be able to attend Jr Nats.

I don't know of any. Paolino/Tuba were out with injury, but I just checked their birthdates and they're too old for YOG.

They skated the Junior Rhythm Dance at a domestic competition in early December. So they should have it ready.
