2018/19 Russian National Competitions

I kinda like Konkina/Vakhnov :shuffle:
I do to, and much rather see Vakhnov with Konkina given her forms/lines/movements, than with Polischuk. The last competition a year ago when Vakhnov skated with her they did well, but even then my thoughts were that he needs to find a more elegant partner to go further.

I find Polischuk not very "elegant" in movement and lines she crates, and bit vulgar is her appearance and facial expressions.

Konkina so far is a much better prospect..

Well, judges certainly rewarding Konkina/Vakhnov above Polischuk and new guy..

Damn. They"ve already qualifed. They need to rest before the JGPF and let Pogo and Gubanova have a shot. :(

Exactly. It almost seems unfair to have to qualify for nationals through the Russia Cups when you are competing against the big guns who already have qualified through JGPF. Gubanova doesn't stand a chance of a medal here, and neither does Pogo. How is Nugubanova (sp?) doing wrt to qualifying for Nationals? I was impressed with her in the last RC event. So much talent in Russia. Imagine if the US had this much depth, where a clean program with 3Z-3T might only guarantee you top 10? These girls need to look for another country to represent.

What I find unfair is that at some events there can be 5-6 skaters who already qualified (through JGPF or having GP event) and their results still count inti the qualification order, so those trying to qualify are fighting for perhaps 7th place at best at that event. That can take skaters out of nationals. On another event there is no one from those top skaters, so those who are trying to qualify have a huge advantage. It would be so easy to fix this problem, for example introducing the rule that the placements of the skaters who already qualified are not counted into the ranking for the nationals.

Also, at some events there may be just three or four competitors and and the next event there can be twelve. So the fourth from the event with less skaters may score only 120 points and yet be higher in the ranking list than the skater who placed 9th at the more busy event and scored perhaps 190 points.

((((((#lipstickgirl))))))) From the JGPF to no nationals in one season. Maybe she'll use LaTuk as her inspiration going forward.

She skated Grand Prix.
She has her national ticket secure, if she shows up!

 I totally forgot she got a GP event. But, given her performance in the Russian cup series, I vote her spot at nationals goes to Gubanova. :saint:
Oh I am totally fine with you focusing on 'Gubanova's spot got robbed by Panenkova' instead of Stasia now

With GP spots for Aliev, Dimitriev, Erokhov, Kolyada, Lazukin, Samarin, Voronov and JGPF for Gumenik (is he old enough?) that leaves 10 spots for men, or?
Do I dare top have still hope for Perkova's toyboy?

There are already unofficial whispers questioning Panenkova's participation in GP events "is it worth it for her to go when at the 2 local Russian Cup events, without top contenders, she can't get up past 8th placements, and her nerves are not in place/cries after skates and in K-n-C". Some note that her form decreased since the Test Skate, and her coach Tzareva is not a happy camper..
