I spoke too soon when I mentioned Zinina's low GOEs. A lot of skaters are getting low GOEs today, on spins and steps as well as jumps. Guliakova's decent GOEs on a couple of the jumps were actually something of an anomaly!

She's still in 2nd, and there's a big gap between the three top skaters and the ones below. She must have been working really hard on those jumps -- the difference between this and her last event is like night and day.

I love this SP, even if it's empty as hell. Anisimov moves and emotes so beautifully. The fist stop in the steps is everything
Awesome shirt.

He has his nationals spot secure, no matter how he finishes here.

Such a shame - he could win a medal at JW with his potential and in the end we all know he might finish around 8th at junior nationals

Rather listless skate from Nugumanova, but she got through with no falls and only one double. Double fist pump at the end, so she was happy with it. Into 2nd.

Aww, rough day for Shulskaya. She had a fluke fall, and it rattled her into screwing up a couple of jumps. Into 2nd.

Guliakova started off okay, but began doubling towards the end. She didn't have her hair bling today -- maybe she needs it for luck! Looked pretty unhappy in the K&C. Into 3rd.

And Samodelkina pulls out the win. Zinina pulled up for second, and Shulskaya hung on for third.

By my calculations, Zinina makes it if she subs for Zhilina at JGPF, but she also makes it with a decent finish next week, so I'm counting her as in. I believe Yametova, Morozova, and Samodelkina are all pretty much assured to make it also. Last 2 spots between Peterimova, Shulskaya, and Guschina. In the end, assuming a good finish for the latter 2 at RC5, (Peterimova did both events already) all 3 could make it if a couple withdrawals from Nationals happen. Guliakova with 2 more points here would have a much better shot, but it wasn't to be.

To me, of all Volchkova-guys, Andei is the biggest hit and miss
He has many qualities, lands stunning quads and splats the second later.
Badass layout with the 3-3's to end - I was confused about 'low' marks for that.

But Volchkova really needs someone to consult for choreo - most of the programs do no work at all for her guys
