Yes, that's the one - the Ice & Field at The Crossover in Cedar Park. The one that looks like an Amazon warehouse LOL
Found it.

Today’s short dances:

The jr dancers looked pretty good, and wouldn’t look out of place in a jgp competition. The second and fourth team were a tad better. All in all needed more energy for the dance and not slow down before the twizzles

For seniors Cui and Roger’s stood out. They were fast going into the twizzles too. Pham and partner also looked more polished than the other two, but for some reason I felt it started better than it finished

are the competitions happening in the same rink? I am asking because jr dance is supposed to start 11:20 but I don't see juv girls finishing before that.

The jr free dance -they all looked pretty good but no one set themselves apart from the others. As it turns o it they were all tied more or less.

Sr free dance- the first team had a fall, then Romeo and Juliet and Swan Lake programs. Swan Lake didn’t strike me as balletic, could use more drama in the program. Pham and partner looked the best and deservedly won

Jr men short- Brooks landed everything including 3A(he is at a side I didn’t see well but I think it is 3a.)

Honorable mention to the German kid. Good skating skills and skated to the music. Just needed to work on that 3t/3t and 2a for better landing

Sr men-both Strommer and Nathan had enjoyable programs and landed the triples they had(no 3a). Liu fell on the first triple and needed to get more comfortable with the program. It can be a cool program if clean

Yes, Nicholas Brooks landed a clean 3A, 3Lz+3T & 3F(!) and scored 75.50 - Junior Men SP protocols: https://ijs.usfigureskating.org/leaderboard/results/2024/33458/SEGM025.html
The "German kid" ;) is August Perthus (12th in Junior at 2024 U.S. Nationals, coached by Jonathan Cassar).

Thanks for the report! Beck Strommer's SP music is to Fleetwood Mac's "The Chain" (same version Samuel Mindra used in last season's FS?) and he scored 75.87 (3Lz+3T, 2A, 3F) - Senior Men SP protocols: https://ijs.usfigureskating.org/leaderboard/results/2024/33458/SEGM027.html

Will you be able to watch tomorrow? Strommer recently announced his FS music is to Camille Saint-Saëns' Violin Concerto No. 2 in C Major and I'm looking forward to seeing this program.

I would like to go Tomorrow but don’t plan on staying the whole day. Still need to figure out timing.
Is Hanna Harrell in the last group or the one prior? I may catch the last bit of senior ladies if I can figure out approximately what time it is.

25 Senior women (minus 2 WD) should still mean 5 groups (5-5-5-4-4), so Harrell should skate in the penultimate group. Event is scheduled from 9:05 AM to 12:05 PM Central time.

Do you still have the schedule with the rink name? The silver rink has no seats.
That rink is so weird. It has massive bathrooms with sky-high ceilings, and the facility is huge but there are no seats for spectators for that silver rink. You can't enter the rink as only coaches, athletes and those with credentials could enter. You watch from the hallway on the first floor or second floor by the window or the 2nd floor hallway that connects both rinks (there are no windows, but your view is still hampered by the netting). They could have a lot of space to put spectator seating, but oh well.

That junior free dance is interesting; they all scored in the 79 range!

women sp - Hanna skated in the last group after all. There must have been a group of four earlier.
She skated to Malaguena(?) and then a disco-ish version of that midway. Fall on Rippon lutz, the rest looked good.
Sonja landed her jumps (not sure about rotations) but fell on the fly on flying spin. Music Unforgettable
Jill had some iffy landings.

Jr men didn’t have a good jump day.

Sr men- Strommer had a super elegant program and landed beautiful jumps in the first half. Some small issues with landings in the second half. Program could use some moves that matched the tempo towards the end. Very enjoyable over all

Thanks! Beck Strommer cleanly landed 5 of his 7 triples, opening with 3Lz+3T, and scored 137.64 in FS, 213.51 total.
Austin Senior Men's final standings: https://ijs.usfigureskating.org/leaderboard/results/2024/33458/CAT007SEG028.html

In 3rd was Nathan Chapple, who spent the summer training in Wilmington, DE with Viktor Pfeifer and has since relocated to Colorado Springs - this was his first competition with Zakrajsek's team (Josh Farris, Stephanie Kuban, Becky Bradley).

Nicholas Brooks fell on 4Tq and popped his 3A into a single; he landed 3F+3T+2A in the second half. His 193.92 total score is now the highest in Junior Men's NQS standings.

Senior ladies - the last group was good! Alina Bonillo started the last group with a 3/3, later Heiner did another one and along with other triples landed. Some of them were a beauty. Music was Moon River. She seemed pleased after the program.

I hope Sonja makes it to sectionals. She skated a very cool program (but can't place the music). It deserves to be seen by the mere 50 or so in attendance.

Thanks so much, Sylvia!
In the handbook it says "Top 4 overall scores from each region, next best 6 overall scores from the section" for advancement to NQS Finals for singles. Are there still "regions" like before? Or do they actually mean section?

Thanks again, Sylvia! This is very informative.
As for senior men, due to the small number of competitors, they all advance to the Sectionals, I guess?

Doesn't Bradie have a bye to Nats due to competing in NHK the week before Easterns? Isn't the bye window 10 days for comps in Asia?

Assuming she does, that would mean 9 Senior Women and 5 Senior Men have byes to Nats? Which would mean 9 women and 13 men qualifying from Sectionals?

Not sure what Bradie's Bye status will be, however, we do have two JGP teams that have qualified for the JGPF and thus earned Byes to Nationals - Flores/Wang in Pairs (rumor is they may be competing Sr domestically) and Wolfkostin/Tsarevski in Dance (can they drop back down to Jr domestically after competing Sr the past two seasons?).

Yes, thanks - I've since edited my post to add your info of the (likely 9th) bye.
The 8 women with known byes at this time to Nationals in Senior: Amber, Josephine, Isabeau, Sarah, Clare (top 5 at 2024 Nationals), plus Elyce, Lindsay & Alysa.
The 5 men (top 5 at 2024 Nationals) with guaranteed byes: Ilia, Jason, Camden, Maxim, Andrew.

Pretty sure (without looking up the USFS rule) the answer is no. Jeffrey Chen was allowed to drop back down to Junior after debuting with Wolfkostin in Senior at 2023 Nationals because he had a new partner who had tested up to Junior last season.

From Ice-Dance.com's Lake Placid IDI Junior recap: "The team will be doing a split season between junior and senior. The recent ISU increased age change allows Wolfkostin to return to the junior level, so their plan is to do Senior Nationals and maybe some others."
