Tsurskaya has withdrawn from the 1st Cup of Russia as the ladies free skate ends on the 18th and the first day of Ondrej Nepela is the next day (19th).

I guess she doesn’t need the Russian cup competitions. If she has a GP event, she is automatically qualified for the nationals.

Gubanovas dress is ugly, but I like the program. It’s pretty clear she has lost training time, though.

So would Sotnikova I mean, there is nothing wrong with the dress, it could be better.

ETA: not a fan of her footwork sequence and only a level 2 at that.

It's a different look for Gubanova, and the choreography doesn't make use of her excellent posture and carriage. However, it does remind me of Radionova's style and with more mileage could become a fun, audience-engaging program.

Totally. I love Radionova’s style, but not necessarily for Gubanova.

I love the dress though.

Thanks! I don't think this dress does any favors for Gubanova's jazz movements/lines (and i usually prefer geometric dresses). It was a good skate.

This Take Five program showed how notable Gubanova's sense of rhythm is! And it also showed her versatility like @SamllFairy said above. But yeah, she needs more practice to reach the full potential of this program. Has she full recovered from injury? (Was the injury due to boot probrem?) Wish the Take Five will grow in people's mind as the season goes. I'm looking forward to seeing her long program today. Stay healthy,Gubanova!

She had boot problems. I paid close attention to her boots today and she went from Risport to Edea. I'm assuming she has recovered, her bff said she did.

Usacheva doesn’t have a lot beside the jumps right now but they are really nice jumps - particularly that 2A. Nicer jumps than Valieva. Someone to keep an eye out for sure.

Samsonov skates right next to Kostornaya. He transferred to Eteri''s group in 2015/2016 season. He just turned 13 years old on 13th of July.

Funny you mentioned Kostornya and Daniil... She likes to harass him just for fun.. Here is one of her live-feeds after May day shishkebab barbecue at the rink.

If you want to watch @ 1:55 she first bugs Alina, then the kids tell Daria Panenkova that she is "stuffing her face again" (with food), and then Alena gets to Daniil....... and then @ 3:15 another "boy star" Arseniiy Fedotov (winner of Ice Age Kids) walks in, sees Alena and rans away in fear.... and she finds him few seconds later, and said "go find your father he is waiting, or he'll think you burned to death" and Fedotov just runs away again....... ... and when he is running past Panenkova, she gives him a slap.....

Usacheva i don't yet know much about her. But wait till she gets an IG account and starts talking.... like the rest of the Precious Darlings....
