Um, just when I thought Scandal couldn't surprise me anymore, they really shocked my socks off tonight. This show was SO good back in the day but had lost its way more recently. Things were better for the latter part of this season but I'm glad it's going to end after this next one. I enjoyed tonight's eps but I think this show's time is way over now.

We quit watching Scandal after a few episodes this season. With Cyrus in jail, and Mellie running for the President, and all the other preposterous things that were going on, we just reached the point where we had had enough.

Speaking of reboots, I don't think the Dynasty Reboot on CW will last the entire season. Interesting to note no casting of these characters yet (going from the trailer).

The trailer did not convince that I need to tune in. This reboot looks trashy (which isn't necessarily always a bad thing lol) and cheap. I wish The 100 had gotten a full season pick up instead; the season 4 finale was AMAZING and maddening and I need more it asap. Also, the CW passed over the 100 showrunner's pitch for another show called Searchers which really sounded interesting. I wish that had gotten picked up instead of Dynasty.

The Dirty Dancing remake was so bad. I didn't watch the entire thing but I agree, it wasn't fun at all from what I saw.

The record for Showtime streaming subscriptions was beat because of people signing up to watch Twin Peaks, so there is still some nostalgia to be had.

NBC has already shaken up their fall schedule. This Is Us will stay on Tuesday at 9ET. Chicago Fire moves to Thursday at 10ET.

https://tvline.com/2017/05/30/this-is-us-season-2-premiere-date-schedule-tuesdays/

I am having some hardcore conflicting emotions with this decision. I love This Is Us so much so I'm glad it's staying put but dang it, Chicago Fire could get buried on Thursday nights especially when it goes off for however long for stupid football in the fall. I do think Fire could beat HTGAWM in the ratings though (and I say that as someone who also enjoys that show) but ugh, I just hate these changes for so many reasons. :wuzrobbed

Information here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superstars_(US_Version)

There are some clips on YT.
Several articles are on Google under "Superstars" TV.

Well, thanks! I looked for "battle of the sports stars" and other titles with sports in them. Superstars makes sense. TOOOO much research. I can't think anymore.

Dick Button!

Wait - I just read the article! It's the "Superteams" farther down. I don't remember the single ones. Cincinnati Reds 1977!!!

Watching America's Got Talent season premiere. I didn't realize that Tyra Banks had taken over Nick Cannon as the emcee. Oh, Lord - those ladies with that keyboard playing chicken.........I can't even.......

But the chicken was so cool!!! I was laughing so hard I was crying!

And that little boy dancer ... good gawd he had me crying too! Don't know if it was a combination of the song and his movement but boy, he was really impressive.

Tyra's okay. I miss Nick though.

The belief is that you have to get someone into your brand at a young age because older people are more set in their ways. It's not about which group have the biggest population or Baby Boomers would have remained the prime target for most of their lives.

Isn't 49 rather late then though?
I thought/read before that it was about who was the most likely to spend the most money. I guess, the age group 18-49 would have been true for a while not not necessarily anymore.
And by the time the 18 year-old will be able to afford or need to products advertised at prime time, the products would already be completely different, wouldn't they?

I know it's not summer TV but CBS has released its fall premiere schedule. https://tvline.com/2017/06/01/cbs-premiere-dates-fall-2017-big-bang-ncis/

The way I look at it is: either companies are completely stupid and spend billions on advertising to a demographic that doesn't pay back or there's something to it. :) I don't 100% buy it, but it can't be completely wrong or the numbers wouldn't support those ad buys and so advertisers would stop making them. [When I worked for a mobile video advertising platform, the advertisers always wanted to see numbers showing their ad buys were impactful.]

(Isn't the prized demographic 18-34 though?)
