2015 - 2016 TV Season

MGH was great but I felt very underused. She got lost in the chaos for much of the episode. I'll give it a few more episodes and hope for improvement. It did get a bit better toward the end but barely.

The big problem for me was that you don't really follow the patient and doctor journey like on ER, Chicago Hope, Grey's, etc... You just see one after the other after the other and what happens to them is pretty much a throw away or just not resolved. One was basically blink and you miss it.

:( I'm going to check out Code Black when it's available On Demand, but it sounds like I'll be giving up on it pretty quickly. The good news is that Limitless is one new show I'm going to stay with for a while, mainly because of the winning performance of the lead, Jake McDorman.

I had decided to watch Code Black and tape Chicago PD to watch later on a regular basis (since I also watch that show). Uhm ... agree with what's been said about Code Black. I don't think I have to worry about that double booked time slot anyone. I'm dropping Code Black.

I just finished Code Black, but I'm going to give it a couple more episodes before I make up my mind...sometimes it's hard to judge a show based on the pilot. There's something there I think, but all the medical stuff just makes me squeamish. I've never really watched medical shows, but I hope they get out of the hospital even if it's just a little.

On the other hand, I couldn't get halfway through the second episode of Scream Queens. Too much camp and gross-out for me.

I sort of enjoyed Code Black - I liked the blonde and her story. I'm not much on medical shows so I don't know if I will stick with it.

"Agents of SHIELD" gets better every season.
I really enjoyed the opening episode of this season! Can't wait for the next episode.

Is Limitless the guy with the pill or the woman with the tattoos?
I wasn't going to watch Limitless but from what people said here, I decided to give it a try and I loved it! Can't wait to watch more.

Criminal Minds tonight was pretty good. For once I like the "new gal." I'm not a big fan of criminals whose stories last all season though. Hope the "mime" guy doesn't become some sort of nemesis that I can't get away from.

I loved Jeanne Tripplehorn, I was sad she didn't stay. I hated Jennifer Love Hewitt and from her first episode knew she wouldn't last. I'm very curious to see what this new character will develop as, they didn't do much with her other than "Here, okay go" last night, which kind of bugged me. I hope she will get more of a role then that, and I've read she is only going to be a recurring character not a regular, I wonder if they will bring someone else more regular in mid-season they have kept secret, or haven't hired yet, since I'm guessing they are still filming, or what they will do. It will be an interesting season.

I thought Code Black was awful. I was hoping it would be more like Grey's,

Speaking of Grey's, is anybody watching or commenting? I haven't seen any separate threads for that or Nashville (yet?).

Anyway, I've been wondering how Arizona and April could be friends. Duh, they both have to always be the one who is right in their relationships, be selfish, do whatever they want, blame the other person for what they did, then come back and pick up where they left off. Jackson and Callie are better off without them.

And, when did April, Callie and Meredith start looking so old? I don't mean to be shallow. I just noticed it last night.

Watched Bones and DVR'd Grey's, then watched Grey's at 9:00. Funny, the actress who played Teddy on Grey's is now with the FBI on Bones!

I'm almost two full seasons behind on Nashville.

I'm watching Grey's, last night was the first episode in almost two seasons that didn't make me cry, I actually laughed, though I know next week I am completely f'ed, I'm going through a very hard break up and this show doesn't help that at all.

I think it's Ellen Pompeo's/Meredith's haircut that is making her look older this season. Sara Ramierz has lost weight so I'm wondering if that has something to do with it in regards to Callie.

I laugh everytime I see Meredith wearing converse and can't help but wonder if that is a Doctor Who reference to the 10th Doctor.

I want a gay male character on this show, that's the only group that hasn't been represented on screen on this show. And I really wish they would use the two male interns more, they used the one guy that pretended to be an attending some in the last episode but last night they just kind of ran around like idiots, which is something this show does not typically do to its characters, so I am hoping there is more to come for both of them, and that at least one of them is gay.

What I really don't like is the direction they've taken Amelia. She was a confident, interesting character last season and now she is just a basket case. That being said this is probably the best the show has been in a number of seasons, last season and this one. I still miss Christina Yang, although I don't feel the missing piece in the show like I expected to feel.

The only characters I really don't like are Wilson and Edwards. I'm not a huge Kepner fan either, although I do understand her side of the relationship with Jackson and I liked her in a few episodes last season. Not a huge Karev fan either, never have been. I kind of feel bad for Arizona but at the same time, she really made her own bed. She doesn't even deserve the respect Callie has been giving her.

Is it just me or are they writing Callie in such a way that there is an undertone she wants to work things out with Arizona, despite everything that has happened? She seemed to be gushing about her knew relationship a bit too much and like she was waiting for Arizona to do something.

Bones

I don't know how I feel about the new storyline yet, though it always drives me batty when they start to villainize characters that don't deserve it, or that at least we don't know yet if they deserve it, but we know in the end of the storyline, they won't. It kind of felt like some of the actors have checked out already, though I don't think Booth, Cam, or Angela have really seemed all that invested the last few seasons anyway. Is that just me? David Boreanaz has just been going through the motions really since they got married, but especially the last season or two.

Does anyone like the NPH's "Best Time Ever" show on NBC?

I had enough after about 5 minutes watching. The show is so forced, and N is charmless in it. It won't be around next season.

Gosh, we're practically opposites on everything! I love Alex and Jo together. He finally grew up.

I have never liked Arizona. Yes, she "made her bed" - caused the car crash that almost killed Callie and the baby (I always remember "that truck came out of nowhere". Uh, you were looking at Callie and ran into the back of it. I don't think it backed into your car.) She was on the plane because she was mad at Alex. Then got mad at Callie for saving her life by cutting off her leg. She wanted Callie to go to Africa with her and then changed her mind and showed back up asking to get back together. Sound like anybody recently? She cheated with that blonde doctor that did the baby's facial reconstruction. Gosh, that's all I can think of right now. What did Callie ever see in her?
I've never liked April either. I want to like Amelia, but I can't (just like Meredith?). I don't want anybody with Owen except Christina. Maybe Meredith needs the ponytail back to pull up her face. That was snarky! She looks so droopy. And I don't think they are just trying to make her look that way because she is so busy. I know some of the actors are like 10 years older than they would be if they were in the same stage of their medical careers. They didn't used to look it. (Even "Teddy" on Bones looked kind of saggy, but I haven't seen her for a couple years.)
I hated what the writers did to Bailey last night. They didn't make Owen or Derek unsure of how to act as chief. Or so mean. They wouldn't have written it that way if she wasn't a woman, which the show was about - all the women in charge at the hospital. And a male (Dr. Webber) had to tell her how to be Chief. Grrrr.

Bones - you know Booth is not really a "bad guy". There's something going on there. Maybe he's being forced or is undercover or something. Tune in next week. ha ha
Has anyone ever read any of the "Bones" books by Kathy Reichs? I made it through one. It was very overly detailed (like commenting on every street they turned on to or something) and way too many wordy medical descriptions. Not a story you could put in an hour t.v. show and not much personal stuff. Maybe in later books? But I stuck with it. I may read another one some day.

Several of us discussed this after the first episode, and we were pretty much all in agreement: it's pointless drivel and we can't understand why NPH is doing it. (lots of bills to pay with the twins perhaps?)

I agree with you on pretty much all of the points of Arizona but for some reason I just can't hate her. Though given my relationship history, Arizona is the one I should hate the most of any character on the show, especially since elements of the end of the relationship with Callie mimic the end of one of mine in some ways.

I didn't like Bailey's writing either, it was too forced, but I understood what they were trying to do and take her back to being The Nazi. It just didn't work at all and I'm surprised it made it to air. She couldn't act that part anymore and they couldn't write it for her anymore. Plus The Nazi was confident.

I came to appreciate Tripplehorn's character but I felt in the context of the show that she didn't fit really. Agreed on JLH. Hated from day one.

This new gal charmed me right away and I loved her reaction to the day: "Best Interview Ever"! I think she's going to fit in just fine.

Add at least half an hour to those on the East Coast for football runover, even if the schedule already has them starting half an hour later. Grrrr. So much trouble to figure out when and how long to set the DVR. What new shows did I watch last Sunday?

Not sure how I'll handle an "American Horror Story: Hotel" without Jessica Lange.

The Flash, iZombie and The Originals!!! :cheer2:

Just spotted that Telus (my TV provider) has a free preview of FX this month, and that FX is doing a marathon of Fargo season 1 on Oct 10 before they launch the new season. So yay, I'll finally get to see that.

Anything else on FX I should check out? I did try American Horror Story a while back -- I didn't hate it but it wasn't my cup o' tea.

I just watched Once Upon a Time and Quantico. Enjoyed Ouat for the first time in a couple of years. Quantico was great and can't wait to see if the terrorist is who I think it is.

We have to first cancellation of the season: ABC Family's 'Chasing Life' Canceled After Two Seasons.

I'm kinda surprised - this series obviously wasn't going to last longer than another season with the way that April's condition was going.

Sorry to hear this. I watched the first season and thought it was very well done. I can understand that the topic (cancer) is a difficult one, but I thought the show did a good job of balancing some of the harsh truth with lighter, life-affirming sub-plots.
