The Dance Hall 13: When You Dance on the Ice and Your Feet Twizzle Twice, That's Amore

Tango was tough, but we did get some really good dance that season - PapCiz, SinKats, Hawayek/Baker, Smart/Diaz, etc
Maybe having at least some pattern steps helped, you know :shuffle:
I don’t remember H/B’s tango! What year was it?

No you’re not alone, Dune 2 is a hit. So is Fear/Gibson’s Scottish medley. Pretty good reviews on CarPon with expectations for more since this FD got a late start. Per moi, Taschlers are better off with this kind of program but need choreo fixes, this may stop their recent slide.

Lop/Bri and Dem/leM are really in trouble, Green/Parsons won bronze but with low scores and the Fun Finns will be very entertaining when they get this program more together. Personally I hated Wolf/Tsar Kill Bill.

More and more curious to see ChoBat, GilPoi and G/F, along with LaLa and the Serious Finns. Not to mention the mysterious Shibs.

Can we take a moment to discuss the Nebelhorn referee and the TERRIBLE officiating here? Louise Bordet took an awful fall on their rotational lift and her head bounced off the ice. She then rolled around on the ice, writhing for several seconds before trying to sit up, looked like she was going to throw up and was quite woozy before she finally was able to stand and they resumed their program. The fall & recovery took a good 15-20 seconds out of the program and there is ZERO excuse for the referee not calling the program & requiring her to go through a concussion protocol. I'm appalled that the referee did nothing to intervene & prevent Louise from further injury.

Sometimes you wonder if these people are actually SOBER.

Will no one speak up for Tangos? ;) Grishuk/Platov’s tango OD, the Duchesnays’ tango OSP and PapCis’s tango RD all rocked!
Me. I love a good Tango (and even some mediocre ones ;) ).

Mark Hanretty referenced liking Tango Romantica during one of his recent commentaries, so the dislike is not universal.

I did not, however enjoy the year of the Wango (Waltz/Tango rhythm).

Unless you are Virtue and Moir, circa 2011 WC SD, then you can do no wrong. These guys made brilliant SDs or RDs.
Yeah, I was going to say, two of my favorite SDs that season were wangos, V/M's included, and tbh always felt like there were more complaints about the possibility of a wango than there were actual realized wangos. Therefore I have no objection to the concept personally. On the other hand, come 2018-19 I did have to accept that Halina Gordon-Poltorak may have had a small point in her reluctance once to assign a tango SD on the basis of same-iness.
