2024 - 2025 NFL Training Camps, Roster Changes and the return of Swifties

I don't remember which team lost the game to KC because of a toe. The final play of the game was a touchdown, but ruled not a touchdown on replay because both feet weren't in the end zone when the ball was caught - by the length of a toe.
Ravens. It was the season opener.

Glad the Ravens pulled it out against the Bengals on Thursday (and glad it didn't go to OT and the game ended by the time C/B skated their RD ar NHK) but we did suffer some injuries and our defense did not look good.

Next up is the Steelers, who I really wish the Commanders had beaten today.

Meanwhile, this touchdown celebration happened.

Camryn Bynum of the Minnesota Vikings is so talented. Not only is he a very good NFL wide receiver, but he also has the break dancing skills for the Olympics! ? ? ? ?

It was pretty funny. Much needed levity in an ugly, ugly win for the Vikings that was entirely dependent on our defense and a rookie kicker playing his first NFL game. Sam Darnold looked so good to start this season, but he's been falling back on old habits recently. Our offense is sputtering, to say the least, and considering that we have the best receiver to play the game (maybe ever), it's not a good look.

First loss this yr—to the Bills and KC’s division is surging. Buckling up for a bumpy ride…

Yeah, they lost, but it's not like it wasn't a close game. The Chiefs are still the Chiefs. I fully expect them to be back in the SB come February.

In other Sunday news, the Vikings played much, much better, but still have some issues to work out. Will Leavis managed to rip off a 98-yard touchdown against our much-vaunted defense, and was playing really, really well. If the Titans hadn't given themselves so many self-inflicted wounds (i.e., momentum-killing penalties), this would have been a very different game. Still, Darnold looked more like the guy who started out the season 5-0 this week. We'll see what happens against the Bears. If we can come away from a month's worth of away games with three wins, I'll be ecstatic.

Detroit scares me most. But they are in the NFC so I don't worry about them for now. But gawd....they beat the Vikings and Texans at their homes and then they destroyed these weaker teams. Just mashed them. For so many years they were a joke and now they are awesome and you know that city has to be feeling good.

Maybe I should rethink coming back to football. The Commanders are now behind the one team I can’t hate…the Eagles.

You can take the girl out of Philly but…

I was at a show yesterday (part of theater subscription series) so I was spared seeing the Ravens in real time (the highlights, or lowlights, were bad enough). Lamar just can't beat the Steelers.

I give snaps to the Bills for ending the Chiefs' winning streak but I fully expect the Chiefs to win their division, and probably the AFC, unless the Bills can beat them in the playoffs, b/c it sure doesn't look like the Ravens will.

I know we're still in line for the 2nd wild card spot, but given how they lost the opportunity to lead the division and we don't seem to be peaking at the right time, I don't see us getting to the Championship game again. But that would mean that I could give the men's FS at Nats my undivided attention, so I suppose there's a silver lining...

Think how it feels to be in the same division. Yeah, Detroit is the team to beat this year, IMO. They look scary good. I have every expectation that it will be a Chiefs-Lions Super Bowl, though obviously I'm hoping for a different NFC team in there. ;)

I know folks are sick of the Chiefs and of course I still hope they win but if it isn't them then I'd love to see two teams who have never won the SB play for the trophy.

Our friends tell me the Chiefs organization is like, we knew it was going to be unlikely the unbeaten season would continue and if they were to lose - the Bills are a good team. And they'd rather lose now, than later in the season where a loss takes you out of the post season.

Looking at the two schedules going forward I’d say the Bills have a great chance to snag the 1 seed. The Chargers and Broncos are surging in our division. The Jets and Patriots are not in their division. This part of the season is always interesting.

They’re not there yet but I want the Commanders to win the SB to demonstrate to Dan friggin Snyder that it was him all along.
He was awful. When I was a kid my father would get disgusted when the Chiefs floundered and rise from his chair to change the channel. And there were the Redskins—the Smurfs, the Hogs and John Riggins—quite an entertaining bunch.

My daughter’s first onesie was burgundy and gold. The Skins united this very fractious town. Then it all fell apart.

Well, once again, my Vikings nearly managed to pull defeat from the jaws of victory, but again prevailed over the Chi-town Bears. They're 9-2, baby! And they won back to back to back road games for the first time in franchise history. Yes, you read that right. First time. We might just make it past the first round of the playoffs this year (but I won't hold my breath, because... past experience says otherwise).

The Chargers weren't surging tonight! You're welcome. :)

Actually, the Chargers looked really strong in the first half. I was worried b/c it looked like the Ravens started the game asleep (not the first time this season). But they woke up.

So John is now 3-0 in Har-bowls.

The Eagles on Sunday will be tough.

@purple skates follows hockey and not football. She told me the Lions were 10-1 and I told her Chiefs were too. She was confused because Lions were in first place. I explained NFC and AFC

Mostly we talk College Football but MSU is having a not so good year.

I saw a bit of that game. The Vikings look good. Solid...like they have stuff figured out. Can't say that about my team yet but they keep squeaking by...

Reflecting on the number of commentators needed for a single NFL game. Right now - there are 6 major commentators for the FOX broadcast. I'm sure there are going to be 1 or 2 lesser known ones on the field.

The Chiefs are killing me with these games. Now Nebraska is doing the same
They are limping along but Pacheco is back and I saw that Hollywood may be back soon. I'm watching the Steelers and Bengals. Steelers are ahead and a solid team. But Burrow is so good at QB. He and his awesome receivers deserve better than they are getting from the Bengal defense. And that's about as nice as I can be to Chase and his hate for KC.

Bengals, you had one job today..... :(

Yes, today I was rooting for the Bengals. ;)

Now the Ravens have to win, no breathing room.

They did rally though. I watch Redzone and there were a ton of good, close games in the noon slot. I love this time of year.
