What else can she achieve by pairing up with a guy who can barely lift 90kg on a bench press and only lift a little girl under 10 in competitions?

Why are you talking about Li as useless partner? What else can she achieve by pairing up with a guy who can barely lift 90kg on a bench press and only lift a little girl under 10 in competitions?
If it's at all true, then I have serious questions about why she didn't want to go with Jin Yang or Yang Yongchao, or any number of others. What exactly is the point of such a pairing?
She doesn't want to work with Jin Yang although Jin had an initiative. Sui thinks JY isn't good enough for her as a partner and she doesn't think JY's style and body line fit her. Yang Yongchao is even worse than JY as a skater. He is too short for her, she wants someone with long and modern linesIf it's at all true, then I have serious questions about why she didn't want to go with Jin Yang or Yang Yongchao, or any number of others. And she thinks Li has those...? People have the right to question her sanity, if so.He is too short for her, she wants someone with long and modern lines
Seriously, go see his shaky 90kg bench press and tell me he'd be a good pairs man. Or maybe the fact that he hasn't done pairs with anyone older than 11 years old should say something...What's wrong with Li?
I’m not sure what a 90kg bench press (which is quite a lot for figure skaters— and in general) is going to show, seeing how the women he’s lifting are not 200 pounds.Seriously, go see his shaky 90kg bench press and tell me he'd be a good pairs man. It's not like there's an overwhelming number of pairs man that he can't find an age appropriate partner who he can compete internationally with if he's even a half decent pairs man.
Han has said many times before that his max needs to be 3x Sui's bodyweight, which at the absolute lowest is 40kgx3=120kg. And bench press would definitely be more than this.I’m not sure what a 90kg bench press (which is quite a lot for figure skaters— and in general) is going to show, seeing how the women he’s lifting are not 200 pounds.
Well, I don't think it's unreasonable to think that some of the China-based skaters in singles & ice dance could be sent to Denis Ten Memorial. It's a heck of a lot closer to fly to Astana than anywhere in Europe.Nebelhorn lists are out, and Jin's not on them. So I would guess this season they've decided not to send skaters to CS events, because I doubt anyone's going to show up at Ondrej Nepela. (jury's out on Zagreb for now, of course)
What in the world am I reading here?Han has said many times before that his max needs to be 3x Sui's bodyweight, which at the absolute lowest is 40kgx3=120kg. And bench press would definitely be more than this.
Obviously someone cannot do Maths correctlyWhat in the world am I reading here?Han is a very small guy, and I read that he was around 135 pounds. He's not lifting 264 pounds with any kind of consistency. That's not normal, at all. Maybe if we are talking one rep max where they try it one time and successfully do it.. there's a very, very slight chance. Otherwise... just no.
I think they'll show up at Shanghai Trophy, if it's happening. It'll likely be Jin, Peng/Wang, An, and whoever the top ranked senior ID team is supposed to be (and maybe the rank 2s for each field).Well, I don't think it's unreasonable to think that some of the China-based skaters in singles & ice dance could be sent to Denis Ten Memorial. Oh, I forgot about that event. Even if they sent a couple of the lower-ranked skaters to Denis Ten that would be good - Yudong, Daiwei, Hongyi, Yi, and their #2 ID team.I think they'll show up at Shanghai Trophy, if it's happening. A pity that it doesn't count for tech mins, AFAIK, which An and the top ranked ID team will lack. Fingers crossed you're right, but I doubt it, and the fed can pretend it gave an opportunity to its skaters by inviting them to this fluff event, while expending minimum travel/lodging costs.
Well Denis Ten Memorial is the same time as Shanghai Trophy. Usually Chinese top skaters are bound to do Shanghai Trophy. So I won't keep my expectations high…Well, I don't think it's unreasonable to think that some of the China-based skaters in singles & ice dance could be sent to Denis Ten Memorial. As she says, they can still send at least an ID team and one of the women to Denis Ten Memorial to get those tech mins. Jin and Peng/Wang can go to the Shanghai Trophy, but they don't need to pretend everyone's on equal footing there beyond those skaters. That's the bare minimum they ought to be doing, even though they won't. Ideally, it'll be every skater she named.Well Denis Ten Memorial is the same time as Shanghai Trophy. Luckily, Day, An, and Cheng Jiaying are all showing up at Asian Open.Oh, I forgot about that event. Even if they sent a couple of the lower-ranked skaters to Denis Ten that would be good - Yudong, Daiwei, Hongyi, Yi, and their #2 ID team.
Where are the entry lists for that comp?Luckily, Day, An, and Cheng Jiaying are all showing up at Asian Open.
I'll have to find the official announcement on weibo, but for now here's a tweet with screenshots: https://x.com/eunju975/status/1826613822934974853Where are the entry lists for that comp?
