Big difference though is that C/P have been on the decline for a few years now and G/P are moving up and improving year by year.
I agree. IMO, Green/Parsons will be supported by USFS in a way that CPom won’t, so I don’t think MIDA will need to do so much strategizing or lobbying on its own — at least on behalf of this team.

Caroline and I are excited to finally announce that we have decided to train in Canton, Michigan with coaches @charlieawhite @tanith_white @gzuerlein and the entire team at MIDA. This is the beginning of a whole new journey for us and we can’t wait to see what the future holds ❤️

Well I for one am very excited to see how they do at MIDA. I think it could be very good.

Edited to add how does Tanith manage to look glamorous even in all her coaching photos? What a star.

Not surprised about GWU. I bet she had a long talk about realistically handling a normal college experience based on his own. Maybe she'll switch to the University of Michigan which was very accommodating of both Charlie and Meryl.
Switching to UM is not easy. It is in a different league form GWU

How long do we have to wait for GP assignments?

I would say that depends entirely upon her course major. GWU is an excellent school, albeit much smaller and, obviously, not a state school like UM. Just because she chose GWU doesn't mean that she lacks the grades or scores necessary to get into UM.

I agree. It probably depends on the major that she’s interested in. Of course getting residency in Michigan would be a good idea first.

Working my way through all the younger dance teams from Lake Placid.

Kudos to the choreographers of the Peals & the Fischers' FD programs.

For most US public universities, residency of undergraduates is determined by the residency of the parents unless the student is older (>24), in the military or a veteran, married, orphaned, or some other special circumstances. There are exceptions (Utah, Montana come to mind) but for the most part, simply moving to a state does not usually grant you residency for tuition purposes even after you live there for a year. It was a strategy that used to work, but most states have really clamped down on that option. OTOH, Colorado does give in-state tuition to athletes at the Olympic Training Center, so it is possible that some other universities have an arrangement like that.

CA seems less restrictive in this than some, which is probably why I thought it was the norm. Still not as easy as I thought.

GWU is extraordinarily expensive. I have no idea whether Caroline might have received a generous scholarship package (or whether money is at all a concern for her family), but it's quite possible out-of-state tuition at UM will be substantially lower than the cost of GWU. Having to live away from home will run up the cost.
