How long do we have to wait for GP assignments?

I do not think there is an official requirement to be an Olympic test event. Being a Challenger or not should not matter. But the event should happen at the Olympic venue, which is why (former) Cup of China could not be the designated test event.
That was due only to the fact that Cup of China was assigned to Chongqing to host, something that could have easily been changed a year ago when the GPF was canceled. The only reason I can think of for it not being moved was because the test event needed to happen earlier than the 1st weekend of November.

At a board meeting held today in Tokyo, JSF decided to send some athletes to CS competitions.

Kana Muramoto and Daisuke Takahashi are entered at the CS Warsaw Cup (November 18-21, Warsaw, Poland). They will go there right after having competed at the NHK Trophy the previous weekend (November 12-14).

Together with their participation in the Eastern Japan Championships (October 28-31) it will be their third competition in just three weeks.🙀

Other JSF entries:

CS Warsaw Cup (November 18-21)

Sota Yamamoto
Koshiro Shimada
Mai Mihara
Yuhana Yokoi
Kana Muramoto/Daisuke Takahashi

(Subs: Lucas Tsuyoshi Honda, Sena Miyake, Mana Kawabe, Tomoe Kawabata)

CS Cup of Austria (November 11-14)

Sena Miyake
Lucas Tsuyoshi Honda
Mana Kawabe
Wakaba Higuchi
Tomoe Kawabata

(Subs: Sota Yamamoto, Yuhana Yokoi)

Already announced:

Loena Hendrickx was added to the FT entry list today. 🤩 Just when I was starting to worry why she's not entered for anything this season yet.... and BOOM!

Here's a recollection of all the in's and out's since the original entry list

MEN
Out: Mozalev RUS, Selevko EST / In: Aliev RUS

WOMEN
Out: Lee KOR, Korri GRE / In: Neira CHI, Ceder FIN, Hendrickx BEL

PAIRS
Out: Ghilardi/Ambroisini ITA, Boikova/Kozlovski RUS / In: Tarasova/Morozov RUS

ICE DANCE
Out: Polibina/Goloshnikov POL, Shevchenko/Eremenko RUS, Luft/Pfisterer GER / In: Janse van Rensburg/Steffan GER

And of course the NED dance team that was accidentally entered in pairs has been switched to the right category now.

So, I think we forgot to copy the original entry lists for Asian Open Trophy into this thread last week when we were hot with Nebelhorn anticipation. Couple of interesting things to note:

1) it's not longer listed on the US Figure Skating Int'l Assignments page but it was last week. Not sure what that means for it's Challenger status but it's a shame for the skaters assigned that it might not be included in the USFS Olympic Selection criteria.

2) Komatsubara/Koleto are out as of today which leaves Dance with just Garabedian/Proulx Senecal, Wang/Liu, and Chen/Su.

I wonder if the USFS is going to try and get them added to Budapest Trophy. I know it's not a Challenger but it is still a pretty solid event in all disciplines.

So happy, that RUS fed is sending more skaters to CS than in the last years 😍

Asian Trophy entry lists updated again today -

As expected, Garabedian/Proulx Senecal are off the Dance list - so that makes the Dance event also domestic-only.

Brezinova is off the Women's list.

I can't help wonder how long before the rest of the European-based skaters also drop off the Men's (Vasiljevs & Britschgi) and Women's (Saarinen, Isaev, Schott) entry lists. Right now there are skaters from 11 countries entered between the Men & Women's disciplines. If that drops below 10, I'm not sure how it can be considered a CS event in any way. Thoughts?

This infuriates me and I'm investigating it. I know that for many not having the on-demand option is a deal breaker when considering buying the stream. :( It's stupid and I don't understand why it's a problem for this event when it's not a problem for any other events.

If only 'on demand' during the course of the competition would be helpful. I had planned to buy a ticket, but my favourite discipline is taking place during working hours, and I had planned to watch in the evenings. If that's not even possible, why buy?
