Guys, I know, I am very-very late to party, but I just watched "Jinx" about Robert Durst and I am like "OMG" and "WTF" and I have no other words.
Well, I thought I didn't have any other words, but then I've read his brother's interview in NY Times and I couldn't say anything beside "eek"

They fought as boys, scuffling and punching through childhood. As young men, working in the offices where the family presided over billions of dollars in Manhattan real estate, Robert kept a sharp-pointed plumber’s wrench on his desk. Douglas responded by positioning a piece of pipe — “to protect myself,” he said — on his own desk.

I'm finally getting into the British baking show. I know I'm very late to the party.

Ok, I am watching the first three "collections" on netflix, and I am just confused - what on earth is going on with Mel, Sue, and Mary Berry's pants in these episodes. They have such a strange shape at the top. Flare out at the hips, and sit so low. I'm probably describing this strangely but does anyone else think it's a peculiar style? I don't know why it's jumping out at me so much! Was this a trend back in the earlyish 2010's in the UK?

eta: I mean pants in the AMERICAN sense omg.

Finished season 3 of GLOW last night...felt like the season was just getting started and suddenly it's over :wuzrobbed. Stupid 10-show seasons!

Is it confirmed for a 4th season? AV Club reviews keep talking about how Netflix likes to cancel shows after 3 seasons (their pay scale goes way up in S4 or something), and how many of the plot trheads were neatly tied up in the finale - which I didn't think happened AT ALL. It totally felt the the first half of a season and I'm super ready for the payoff now.

I have subscribed to Netflix for the first time and just for a month, I started with Stranger Things and will end to watch the third season on 13 Reasons Why. I normally just wait for the dvds, but those shows I can no longer wait.

In between, I have been watching cheesy Netflix teen movies. To All the Boys I Loved is well done but it bothered that amongst the 18 billion love letters she wrote, not one of them was to an Asian dude (and why not one to a girl?).

Alex Strangelove also confirmed that I am tired of seeing girls being heartbroken in gay male love stories.

More Tales of the City was not bad, not as good as the first, but better than the other miniseries.

Always Be My Baby was my favourite, even if the guy was a bit of a douche and the girl should not have been so angry with her parents. Your parents were immigrants running a business to provide for you. You run a business as an adult, so where’s the perspective? Her adoration of the stay at home mom was sweet if a little unsettling.

I wish I liked Always Be My Maybe more than I did. My favorite part was the beginning when we saw them as kids. I thought it was both overwritten and underdeveloped (especially with regard to Ali Wong's relationship with her parents). I also realized Wong isn't a strong actress. I didn't really believe Randall Park was a talented musician/performer either just based on his actual performing in the film.

I loved the female best friend and I did like that the female protagonist enjoyed her job and success. And there were some really great one liners.

Yeah. I hated that Randall Park's character made fun of her cuisine and it seemed like the movie supported him with the way it ended. I sort of hope Ali Wong's character gave him or his dad a cut of the profits for taking his mom's recipes, LOL.

Agree so much. I liked the beginning, the father, the female best friend, and Keanu. Not much else. The acting by the leads was so poor it ruined everything for me.

I'm in the middle of Stranger Things season 3 now and loving it. I thought the first 3 episodes started of sort of slow and were lacking plot, but then from episode 4 it got really exciting. Might be my favorite season so far (except maybe that there's a bit too many "main characters" now, which means some get very little air time, like Lucas).

I binge watched Fleabag - both seasons (very short, just six episodes each). Once I got past the raunchiness (which is something I usually try to avoid watching), I really loved it. Am sad that that's it for the series. I think my favorite thing was the relationship with her sister.

I started watching "Hard Feet With Mickela Mallozzi" on PBS and lost track of this series but found it again on Prime. I like seeing all of these traditional dances from all over the globe.

We love British police/detective shows and basically most things from the U.K. Our favorite is "Vera". I suggested BritBox to my husband but he said the reviews of it were terrible. Does anyone have any experience with it?

I have BritBox and quite like it. I also have Acorn, and my newest obsession, MHz.choice. On MHz I am working my way through the 4 seasons of Murder in (insert name of different region of France for each mystery); it’s like being on summer vacation for a month in France.

Watching season 3 of Glow. It’s so good. Really loving Betty Gilpin’s Debbie, in particular. Episode 5 is hands down my fave so far.

seeing the girls swap characters was a hoot. “I feel like I’m on acid” 🤣

eta: episode 6 is even better
Have been home sick from work so just watched S3 of GLOW and the latest OITNB.

I think S3 of GLOW was the best one yet. Wasn't sure how it could get better from the previous seasons, but there were heaps of laugh out loud moments in it and some great character development. Loved seeing Geena Davis again.

And also enjoyed OITNB. It did have some quite heartbreaking moments in it.

Season two of Harrow is on Hulu now and is just as good as the first season.

Yes. But now I'm mad. They killed a character I liked. I saw it coming and almost didn't watch the episode.

if they killed him because there are too many people in the office because Harrow has a love interest I'm going to really be pissed

I just watched a preview for The Dark Crystal (Netflix original) and it felt like Muppets meets Lord of the Rings. Sure enough it was Jim Henson. It will be available Aug 30.

I have a lot of things in queue right now and probably won't get to it right away. I'm not sure if I do want to watch it but would appreciate any reviews if anyone watches it and can help me decide. :)

I saw the first episode at Comic Con and it was a little overwhelming at first trying to keep track of the characters. But the visuals are gorgeous and if you liked the 1980s movies you should like this

Although I am told the ending leaves room for more seasons
Anyone who has seen the original know all the Gelflings save for 2 die or get some kind of dementor’s kiss

The Spy is an upcoming Netflix spy triller based on real life spy Eli Cohen and starring of all people Sacha Baron Cohen. According to Wikipedia the actor is a distant relative of the subject of the series Eli Cohen.

I watched Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile last night on Netflix. Zac Efron plays Ted Bundy and I thought was quite amazing how well he did capturing Bundy. The story is from the perspective of Bundy's girlfriend. Overall I thought it was pretty good.
