B/K managed to lose to three other pairs at Junior Nationals, including the very same pair with no triples, and they still moved to seniors. And M/G would have got two GP events regardless from their SB, just like B/K did.
That’s true, but they already had pretty decent skating skills and therefore it didn’t hinder them moving to seniots. In comparison, Pavliuschenko/Khodykin beat Boikova/Kozlovski the whole year, then they even won junior worlds but after moving to seniors, their skating skills were not good enough and it reflected in their PCS the whole season. If one doesn’t have a decent level of skating skills, in juniors it will not be noticed but in seniors they wouldn’t have proper results no matter how great they would be technically.

Ksenia posted a very brief clip in her stories today of them on the ice with Exogenesis Symphony Pt 3 (sigh) playing. I don't know if that's one of their programs, but I don't know why else she would have posted it.

She answered a few questions from people and one was about whether they will represent Russia - she said yes. I guess we'll see...

It wouldn’t surprise me if that is the new program. I actually think that could be beautiful: the lyrics “just let us start it over again” are such a metaphor for her career right now. She is a versatile skater and if anyone can do it, it’s her. If this is true, I’ll be eager to see it.

It's pretty hard to drop down to one, considering that even the Canadian ladies kept two. Just one in the top 12 is enough. Or 13+15.

The way they skated the SP, I was worried that they may drop to one spot, and they will be back to 2014. Fortunately they have two spots next year.

Ladies-; gold, bronze
Pairs - silver, bronze
Ice dance - silver (and three spots after many years)

WOW! If only they could send some junior ladies to compete in the men’s field, they may get a medal there too. ?

Trusova, Kostornaia, and Shcherbakova to the rescue!

... and they should, so that top russian men have more free time to post many many fun and wonderful pictures on their social media..... there they are kings, and so powerful, great and mighty.. :D

Things I'm curious about:

2. Will Zagitova continue on now that she has the full compliment of gold medals?

:watch:
At least Alina herself is saying she is not planning to quit in the near future. I hope she stays healthy and continues to progress. I am beyond thrilled for her world title after the season that she's had. I'd like to think it will take the pressure off her to prove that her Olympic win was an accident and that she can now calmly develop as a skater.

And yet P/K still won medals in both their GP events and went to the GPF in their debut senior season, something B/K couldn't do. Not too shabby for a team with skating skills "not good enough." :D

As for other young teams and staying junior or moving senior I don't see any reason to rush. They are all very young and still have all the time in the world (a lot of senior pair teams last well into their late 20s or early 30s). They should remember the end goal should be the 2022 Olympics and even the 2026 games, not 2020 worlds or other senior competition. If they are that talented then waiting another season isn't going to kill them. It will only give them the chance to build a bigger reputation and hype. Build great hype in the juniors and the senior judges will reward you even if its your debut season (just look at the Russian and Japanese ladies for example).

When all is said and done all the younger teams have something they got to work on. Where they do it doesn't matter as long as they're amazing for 2022 and beyond :smokin:

Agree with all of this! She’s a sweet girl and I’m so glad she was finally able to lay it down when it counted.

Winning medals at GP this season wasn’t that hard, comparing with the past few years. A lot of top teams retired and there were not many established top pairs present. The GP events were weak. So landing their jumps would have been enough at the GP events, but it definitely wouldn’t have been enough at worlds. Boikova/Kozlovski achieved much more than that. They put their name up there among the top six pairs in the world and that will have a big importance for the next season. Next season, if any of the pairs above them mess up, it will make it easier for the judges to place Boikova/Kozlovski above them. Whereas with Pavliuschenko/Khodykin, even if they went clean they won’t have a chance because the top teams will be easily beating them on PCS.

I really like this team.

Who are you referring to...Kovtun? He wasn't even there (for reasons which are well known to him). The other guys hardly post at all. There is enough to criticize without making up absurd fictional claims.

I’m not entirely sure that it would have been clear at the GP selection how depleted the pairs would be. B/K had 2 full seasons as juniors and a world junior medal. I think an extra season in juniors was the right choice for M/G: they’re a relatively new team; they can get a higher WS; they can gain confidence and grow in a lower pressure environment.

Now, they are definitely ready for the senior level.
I mean that M/G did not need to win Junior Worlds this season to get two GP spots next season. Leaving them in juniors for this season was the right call and many people thought so. This season there was a concern that Velikova might leave them in juniors yet again and we can see it wasn't unfounded.

I mean all top russian guys, and they all post, some more, some less, but it is all "pretty pictures" and "what fun time they are having somewhere OTHER than a rink".. That's good... but now how about some results where it counts..

Congrats to all Russian girls! They were great!

To say the truth, I didn't expect such results this time. :)
Yet Tutberidze says they even were going to withdraw Alina on Saturday. As for withdrawal, I didn't expect it either.

Congratulations to Kazakhstan!! :)

Why was she going to withdraw? I did not see anything about an injury.

Saw posted other boards that it was because Alina had a mental breakdown. Not dealing with being hunted and not hunter. Pressure get to her. No injuries. She doesn’t handle pressure. This comes from other forums. Not sure if truth. Anyone know if this right?

I didn't hear anything about the reason.

Tutberidze says the preparing to the competition was morally hard (mentally?). But she doesn't say, that this is the reason.

I really hope that Alina focuses more on a pro career now that she's won everything. She looked like she was suffering all season. There was rarely any joy in her face or demeanor. And with 3A turning senior, it's probably best to go out on top. She has nothing more to prove.
