Were B/K one of youngest team at worlds, if not the youngest? Compare to everyone else in the top 10 they looked like newborn babies

Pretty much. Hanna Abrazevich (August 1, 2002) is the youngest woman; she's younger than Alexandra by a 6.5 months (January 20, 2002), but Dmitri (December 23, 1999) is younger than Martin Bidar (February 24, 1999) by 10 months.

russian pairs depth are the deepest since the 1980s

you have Tarasova/Morozov, Zabijako/Enbert Boikova/Kozlovskii then Pavyuchenkova/Khodykin, Efimova/Korovin
then you have upcoming seniors Mishina/Galliamov whho are expected to compete and bump Tarasova /Morozov for russian no.1 next season.

then Theres more juniors coming seniors.

They were one of the youngest, of not the youngest. Pairs usually stays in juniors until they age out. BoikovaKozlovski could have stayed in juniors for another three seasons, and yet they moved up.

Yup. Walsh/Michaud are close, but a little older. Abrazhevich/Bidar are the same age as B/K.

Bidar is ten months oldr than Kozlovski, which is nearly a year. But Abrazhevich is seven months younger than Boikova.

Bidar’s last junior eligible season is 2019-2020. I think they should have stayed junior. I can’t see much point moving to seniors and be at the bottom while they are not quite ready yet. They could be collecting their points, making sure that they will be getting GP events when they have to move up.

Oooh, I like this for her. It's overused, but she does well with drama and character driven programs.
I think that will be perfect for her. I actually really liked the new short this year and hope they find more like that. Kudos to her for skating through so much pain today. Looked like she could hardly walk coming off the ice.

I'm sure that medal helped dull the pain given the rest of her season.

Now, I'm wondering who will get the Team Trophy spots? I really hope Liza is one. She deserves it if she wants it.

Can someone remind me what the criteria is for GP selections? I know top 12 at Worlds automatically gets 2; and SB and WR has something to do with it. In just thinking about the Russian girls for next season.

Guaranteed 2:
Zagitova
Medvedeva
Samodurova

I would imagine would also get 2:
Tuktamysheva
Trusova
Kostornaia
Shcherbakova (if she moves up, and I think she likely will)

That is 14/18 max spots.

What about:

Sakhanovich
Konstantinova
Gubanova
Leonova
Sotskova
Tarakanova (staying junior?)

Obviously, they can’t all get spots. I also wonder if Zagitova will continue.

According to current rules, the following eligible skaters 'have' guaranteed GPs:
Alina Zagitova (WCh 1) - 2 GP events
Evgenia Medvedeva (WCh 3) - 2 events
Sofia Samodurova (WCh 8) - 2 events
Stanislava Konstantinova (WS 9, SB 23) - 1 event
Elizaveta Tuktamisheva (WS 13, SB 9) - 1 event
Alexandra Trusova (WS 18, SB 5) - 1 event
Maria Sotskova (WS 19) - 1 event
Anna Scherbakova (SB 7) - 1 event
Alena Kostornaya (SB 10) - 1 event
Serafima Sakhanovich (SB 19) - 1 event
Anna Tarusina (SB 20) - 1 event
Anastasia Gubanova (SB 21) - 1 event

That would already make 15 slots. After that the selection should go down the SB list and give slots to those who have one/none. If everything is done according to rules, the remaining 3 slots will go to Trusova, Scherbakova and Tuktamisheva (thus no second GP for Kostornaya).

Of course the federation can refuse to submit someone's name for GP selection (leave someone in juniors for one more year) or leave the third home spot empty and award it to whoever they wish. In such case Liza T will not have a second spot.

And there is also a possibility that Anna P or Lena R would try to get events as return skaters which would complicate situation even further

From interviews, Shcherbakova said she can't wait to transfer to Seniors, same for Trusova and Kostornaya.

Also, from interviews, seems like Tuktamysheva is determined to skate next season.
But there is always that one GP Russia host spot, to add one more lady without 2 assignments.

Alena getting 1 spot, coz her low WS because she missed junior worlds ?

it will be reserve for Kostornaya then if shes healthy next season

No. Being higher on WS list would not have helped her. She needed to be higher on SB list (higher than Liza). Probably she would have accomplished that had she competed at Junior worlds. But the idea of Liza having only one GP does not sit well with me either (especially after the way she has been treated during World Team selection).

Thank you so much. I can see the fed having Tarusina do the JGP again along with Senior B's. I definitely do not want Kostornaia to not have a second GP - that would be a huge mistake for the Russian Fed, I think. Somehow I fear Gubanova will be left out of the GP again :fragile:

I am disappointed that Liza has just one GP. She won a medal at the GPF this season!
