Who was the oldest skater Eteri has ever coached successfully? Was it Medvedeva? Trying to think whether she's ever had a skater over 17 y.o. that was not injured / had diminishing results.
Sergei Voronov.

ha... for me, first reaction was "Loretta Young"!!very classy....I like this style.. plus her face looks like Elizabeth Taylor..
I digress to say that although I'm sure the routine is for fun and 'sexy' is fair game for FS show numbers, I'm bothered by it having recently read about what life used to be like for flight attendants (which is what they are called now) - previously known as stewardesses. They couldn't be married, could only work when young, and although they did not strip, were expected to be sexually attractive to male passengers and were often subject to unwanted touching..
Ah yes. Thank you. I should have said a medal contender skater. It's really hard to believe Tursy is almost 19; she still looks like a very young teenager.Tursynbaeva is 18. (19 tomorrow).
Tursynbaeva has a Russian citizenship too, dual. She was born in Moscow and her parents although born in Kazhakstan, for many years since were living in Moscow and are also Russian citizens. Plus, all her coaching staff is Russian.I like her very much. Have ever since I first saw footage of her from Skate Detroit during her debut senior season. Her tribute to Denis during the gala at 4CCs had me in tears, and I was not the only one.
Speaking of which, this doesn't belong in the Russia thread. I can never remember what the abbreviation is for obscure 4CC competitors.
I hope Zhulin is not restricted from traveling in the US at some point due to concerns about federal crimes.
He won't be... they were divorced already, and all she supposedly did was strictly her own initiative or non-action.I hope Zhulin is not restricted from traveling in the US at some point due to concerns about federal crimes.
It's not just "fan war", some of the comments are not worth posting. It's media headlines that adding to the fire.Tukt has much respect for Medvedeva and support much in past. She feels Medvedeva should’ve won Olympic gold. If there is fan war the bright Tukt or Medvedeva are allowing senseless drama in

No, it is not nitpicking, you said it exactly right, her mother is Kyrgyz, born in Kazhakstan, and a Russian citizen since college days. Padishakhan Sultanalieva (Tursy's mom) was born when it was still USSR, like everyone had a "soviet citizenship" and when the country split, she was living in Moscow and chose her passport to be Russian.Nitpicking, but her mother is Kyrgyz (but living in Russia since her student days, IIRC)
Medvedeva is in Russia already. 8 days till competition.
I love Med but I will be upset if they pick her over Tuk for worlds, unless Liza has not fully recovered. Zhenya has struggled all season. Liza has been solid.
The choice will be made based on one (or two?) performance?

Liza and Med are my two favorite Russian girls, and I’ve been a Liza fan since she was a sonogram.
Med will not do well at Worlds based on her season and it does her no favor to send her. I hope and expect that by next fall she’ll be more comfortable with her coaching and her body and life in general. Liza should go.
It gets more interesting. Mishin is bringing one more of his girls to Russia Cup Finals, Anastasyia Gulyakova.
She announced that she'll be performing 3A in her programmes.

Would love it if the team was Sam, Med and Tuk.
Alina has benefit of being Olympic champion this season and getting questionable PCS from judges, also they’re overlooking her UR jumps. How much longer can judges keep doing that? And is it fair to the other skaters?
If she URs she will be penalised just like at Europeans, if not she will get the score. Her PCS is the same level as Kihara, by no means Kihara is a artistic genius. It is amazing how some here want likes of Tennel to get higher PCS but find Alina’s score offensive.Alina has benefit of being Olympic champion this season and getting questionable PCS from judges, also they’re overlooking her UR jumps.
