Who else is there exactly who's had consistent results? Besides I think she just needed a mental break from Russia. I mean these Nationals were intense.

I think he is intelligent enough to know what to change and what to keep. I love how patient and nurturing he's been with Tut. I am sure Medvedeva could benefit from some love, so to speak.

The energy in Mishin's group really seems good. Both Sofia and Liza look really happy to be out there and appear to enjoy competing for the sake of competing.
 
Why people are thinking it’s not working with Orser? I will wait for her to make that decision. I feel she didn’t stay with Russian coach due to the wrath of Eteri. Look how she handle this coach switch. Not sure another coach in Russia would have wanted all drama like Eteri gave.
 
I like what I've seen of her relationship with Orser so far and I think it's a positive sign he was open to changing her short program even though I guess you could say it didn't work out that well at RusNats. I'd love it if they keep it for next year because I think it's very promising (maybe they can keep building it technically if that's needed).
 
Wow I finally saw Tarasova/Morozov's LP from Russian Nationals (since I'd seen it already from one of their GP performances I watched some other stuff first as I've been catching up on everything) and they did a really great job. I really hope they are given the credit they deserve if they skate this clean at Euro's and World's. I love Cipres/James too but I think it should be a tough choice between the two in the free if they both go clean.

If they are both clean, i would give the edge to T&M. Better SS, better positions.

I almost think that figure skating in North America is a bit of a money suck with all the money skaters have to spend for personal training, dance classes and private coaching. Eteri's girls take dance classes together, practice together take lessons together and probably do off ice training together as well. They may not receive a lot of individual attention but they are probably always supervised and watched. It probably is more effective to give small instruction to fix issues as they arise as opposed to one big lesson and leave them to practice alone. People do well under the North American system but Eteri is showing that her way produces consistency and polished programs. Her skaters look the most finished and polished compared to the other Russian coaches. Others may have better jump technique but her girls have complete programs with every detail attended to. Whether you like the choreography or not, everyone is getting spin levels, footwork before jumps, transitions, etc.

I think it would be an adjustment for Evegenia to have to take more responsibility for her skating and this training in North America costs a lot more money as well.

I really don't understand why people think Raf would have been any better, since he says himself that he needs 2 years to develop a skater. Look how long it took him with Michal. And look how Marin Honda is doing in her first season with Raf...yikes! Honestly, I think Raf is a bit overrated. He's alright, but he certainly doesn't have the track record of Orser or Eteri. Mishin...I don't think he would have taken Evgenia (he turned down Yulia, for those who have forgotten) and I don't think she would have wanted to go there. She wanted to go to Brian, the end. Why would anyone here know what's better for her than Evgenia herself?

I am not saying that her back is not injured, it most likely is bothering her, but as pointed out above, it's not just the spins that are not improving. Her old short program also looked worse as season progressed in terms of presentation.

Listen to Brian's interview for Rocker Skating. I found it quite illuminating.
IMO Evgenia made a brilliant move.

In more than one interview, he has said he needs at least 18 months with a skater before the best results will be seen.

Also, what are Konstantinova's results this year that propelled her to Euros, etc.?
 
Enbert's injury sounds serious. I wonder if Z&E will be out of Worlds also? Lots of further medical examinations and rehabilitation is required.

It is not ideal, still Russia team is stronger than any team competing at the worlds. We will need T/M, P/K and B/K all to have really bad skate for Russia to lose 3 spots for the next worlds.
Even then, I can see a result like this:

1) J/C 2) S/H 3) P/J 4) T/M 5) DM/G 6) MT/M 7)K/O 8) R/K 9) B/K 10) P/K

T/M will need an absolute nightmare of skate to finish outside the top 4, then the next Russian pair will need to finish 10th to lose 3 spots. For that will need everything going wrong for the team Russia to, even then a 9th look more likely. For such a result to occur non-russian will also have to be at their absolute best, which based on past results also looks unlikely. If I was you, I wouldn't be too worried about 3 spots. Saying that, an injury to T/M would be bad, even then Russia could scrape 3 spots based on how other teams have skated this year and general lack of depth elsewhere.

At Euros? With B/K and P/K on top of T/M, I wouldn't think that would be a problem at all. The only real competition for these teams in Europe is J/C and DM/G. Maybe Z/K. Three spots at Euros should be easy.

If you mean at Worlds, Z/E are not out of Worlds yet. But even then, 3 spots would be very doable as long as T/M skate well. If they are 3rd, then all that's needed is for one of the other two teams to come in the top ten. If they are 4th, then top 9th for one of the other two teams. Keep in mind that there will be only 2 Chinese teams at Worlds, 1 US team. Even if the 2nd Russian team were to come behind all of Sui/Han, Peng/Jin (or Yu/Zhang), Della Monica/Guarise, James/Cipres, Moore-Towers/Marinaro, Kayne/O'Shea (or other US team), and Tarasova/Morozov, that RUS2 team would be 8th. Then there's Ryom/Kim and Ziegler/Kiefer.

If T/M were to come 4th, then one of Boikova/Kozlovskii and Pavliuchenko/Khodykin would need to beat one of R/K and Z/K to retain 3 spots. They could still lose to all of 2 CHN teams, CAN1, USA1, ITA1, FRA1. That is very very doable, and B/K especially are capable of beating some of those other teams. The only reason to be concerned would be if you think T/M will not come in the top 4 (and even if they were 5th/6th, B/K could place high enough to get it done).
 
I don’t have confidence in P&K. Not sure if B&K can handle the pressure in their very first Euros. If they place in top 10, T&M could place 3rd or 4th which is doable.

Will think of worlds later, but it will be much tougher, with the Chinese pairs and MT&M competing. However, from Domshabfan’s post, it may be possible. Still, a top 10 at worlds won’t be easy for B&K.

i don’t disagree with this as I do see some positive changes already. I just looked back and did the math on the cost of the 2A 3t mistake. If you assume she’d get just under what Samodurova got for it- a 1.1, that was 6.94 points of mistake between the base value difference, the goe difference, and the fall deduction. That would have taken her total to 212.84 and she would have been above Zagitova and automatically into Euros.
