So five different US teams have medaled in a Grand Prix this season. That’s got to be a record, right?

While I’m loving the positive comments people have on H/B’s FD, I’m a little surprised to see stuff like emotional connection and speed mentioned as areas where they’ve made huge improvements - I never thought they were lacking in these aspects. I thought their problem was more about not being able to get the levels and GOEs? I also didn’t think their two past FDs lacked maturity or profoundness.I also agree regarding Hawayek and Baker. I see tremendous improvement in partnering, emotional connection, speed and confidence.
The one word that comes to mind when I watch their new Freedance is...Masterpiece. I have been watching the dance over and over and over again. I am profoundly moved by it.
I did not mean to imply that they were in any way lacking before but that the new freedance represents a step up (further maturation) in every category. I see a lot of growth in their dancing. While I’m loving the positive comments people have on H/B’s FD, I’m a little surprised to see stuff like emotional connection and speed mentioned as areas where they’ve made huge improvements - I never thought they were lacking in these aspects. Congratulations to Mcnamara and Carpenter winning the silver at Skate Austria. I think they have now medalled at every competition they have entered this season.
