Bobrova/Soloviev are out, for now Zahorski/Gureiro are in.
Cappellini/Lanotte's chance for a medal looks more promising...

Why did he withdraw from Juniors? Does anyone know?Jun Hwan Cha did not have the minimum TES for the Worlds at the time of the Korean National, so he was not a candidate for the World. What he withdrew from was the Junior World spot, not the senior one.

An injury (Katsalapov's) has nothing to do with being "foolish."And all those opportunities could be for S/K if they were not so fools.

It's my favorite Worlds, because there's so much change and opportunity.

I love C/L, but can they really get past all three of H/D, C/B, and W/P? Even with home Worlds inflation I'm not sure they're at that point. They got their "farewell present" in 2014 IMO.

They finished ahead of Chock/Bates and Weaver/Poje at the Olympics.Who are the other 2?

Exactly, so why can't they finish above them again? That just leaves P/C, I hope we are all not still under the impression that the Shibs are skating at worlds again lolThey finished ahead of Chock/Bates and Weaver/Poje at the Olympics.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR YOU? ARE YOU PLANNING ON COMPETING AT THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS IN MID-MARCH?
M: We’ll make a decision in the next few days with worlds. It’s been very exciting to see the amount of enthusiasm and excitement based on the Olympic success. It will really just depend on the timing and the opportunities we have.
ARE YOU THINKING ABOUT 2022 YET?
A: Only because everyone’s been asking us! It was one of the first or second questions we got in the mixed zone after winning an Olympic medal. We were asked in 2014, and we said, “We don’t know what the future holds!” and that somehow turned into the headline that the Shibutanis may retire.
They're not going guys, please everyone knows. From chapis's post in the Shibs thread:
In other words, we might as well wait a few days and let them decide and tell us.

They just did get past two of them.
Comments like this make me hope that C&L crush those teams, particularity C&B. There is *nothing* other than being from the US that makes C&B superior to C&L. Nothing.
Hopefully Sharron Rodgers doesn't make the judging panel and they'll have a fair shot. Guignard and Fabbri too.
Had C/B not fallen on their spin at the Olys, they likely would have scored higher than C/L overall. They (and H/D) beat them at the GPF and it wasn't just the U.S. judge who scored them higher. In the Olys SD, C/L had the advantage (as did B/S) of skating in the last group. We'll see what happens at Worlds. I would expect C/L to be on the podium in their home country, maybe as high as silver, depending on how others skate and how much S/B's scores go up as RUS #1, but I wouldn't say they are definitively superior to all 3 teams named above.Comments like this make me hope that C&L crush those teams, particularity C&B. Do you think that they are contemplating retirement or really injured?
She doesn't need a cast on her foot to contemplate a retirement
Yeah maybe s/b will be as high as 5th! The apparent ceiling for Russia number one now. B/s fifth at worlds and Olympics so either fifth was as high as it gets for them or maybe s/b will do worse? Ok let's wait and see lol..do u believe all PR spin? Especially from a couple that even choreograph every instagram post? You should inform that to Maia and Alex. You seems more sure about it than them.
I guess this confirms that I/M are not going to Worlds? They're still listed as possible substitutes on the ISU entry list and are no longer listed on the Worlds Wikipedia site. Neither of them seem to have made a comment on Twitter or Wikipedia, though. The skaters/teams who have officially opted out of Worlds or are not listed in the initial entry lists published on Feb. 28 (among those who competed at Olympics) are:
PAIRS
Duhamel/Radford CAN (replaced by Camille RUEST / Andrew WOLFE)
@Also, Chock/Bates have slightly better lifts and spins than C/L. Also, they have more transitions.
