Zagitova has great skill level but such AWFUL posture... EW EW EW EW EW!!!!
Why fix it when the judges didn't care? She even skates to ballet music with that posture.
How dare you tarnish the reputation of my favorite Slutskaya!?I guess Irina did it, why not her?
Now that's quite funny! Seriously I don't get the Zagitova love. She's consistent, she has a loop in combo are the pluses, but her musicality is zero, her skating skills and posture are poor. YeurkHow dare you tarnish the reputation of my favorite Slutskaya!?
She is the second most balletic skater of all time, behind only Elvis Stojko.
I don't get the Zagitova dislike, actually. I think she's even better than Medvedeva.
anyone else think so?
I am not sure if Zagitova remain as calm under pressure as Medvedeva. I am also not sure if she can manage to be as consistent as Medvedeva. Only time will show us if she can be consistent, and if she can handle the pressure. But there is something in Zagitova's skating that I like more than in Medvedeva's skating. It seems to me that Zagitova puts in more feelings. Medvedeva is like a pleasant robot - reliable, technically brilliant but I am missing the spart, the feelings... with Zagitova the feelings are more visible, more believable.I don't get the Zagitova dislike, actually. Well, last season she was calm under pressure. This season she did only one competition and had a mistake in the SP. i would give her the benefit of doubt because it was her first international competition in seniors, and it is early in the season so we can't blame her that she is not fully fit yet. But we will see if she has any problems staying calm later on.That's my impression too. Of course, very few people are as calm under pressure as Medvedeva!
I agree with you but at the same time Med's Senior debut at Nepela Trophy wasn't great. She had a fall and some other mistake, iircWell, last season she was calm under pressure. I like his comment that Dmitri Aliev is a ray of lightNot sure if this has been posted yet, Averbukh's comments on the Russian test skates:

His comments on T/M are a bit.
Daniil Gleikhengauz, a coach within the Eteri Tutberidze group, reports that Alexandra Trusova is training to do a 3A
[Gleikhengauz said:] "The 3A is not as good as the 4S, and it has not yet been included in her programs. The priority is to perfect the existing content first. Last season, Sasha and I also worked on a 4T, as well as a 4S, but the 4S was better and so we decided to focus on that.
Thanks for the info. What a bummer, I was looking forward to seeing Dmitri doing an International.
Losing tech to the parsons? I wonder if this means b/s have given up and are going to retire before the Olympics.
lol, maybe only after the Olympics. They are the only match stick holding russian ice dance together.
Parsons just did what was required by the rules. They didn't do anything special. B/s weren't even competent here.I do think the lack of GOE love on B/S's elements compared to what Hubbell/Donohue received at U.S. Classic where H/D were 3 whole points lower in base value but nearly tied B/S's TES here is a sign that they have some work to do. However, different judges, different competition, etc. Plus, the Parsons were really on point with the levels today and they have an edge quality that is sublime.
