What song are you listening to?

Currently have been listening to new music....which for me means Somewhere to Elsewhere, a Kansas album released in 2000.
It's a strange album, all over the place stylistically. Love 6 of the tracks, and don't care at all for the other 4 which are not progressive at all, but more southern funk. It's quite jarring, but at least the title of the album makes sense!
If the Neville Brothers are Southern Funk, I would probably like the other 4 tracks. The only Kansas songs I know are Dust in the Wind and Carry On Wayward Son.

I don't mind southern funk at all, it just doesn't blend well with the other tracks which are definitely prog. They should have done a whole southern rock album then. A lot of their early early stuff more more southern funk and blues. I'm just partial to prog.
And it hurts my heart that Dust and Carry on are the only songs you know. :drama:

I am posting this one because I saw this singer last night supporting another Australian performer Matt Corby at his gig.

She has one of the most incredible voices I have heard. Her name is Vera Blue but I don't follow The Voice so hadn't realised she had been on that. This is a live performance on a radio program of her single Hold.

And as for Matt Corby he is another incredible vocalist - again another live performance

Oh Darling - Beatles

Had to come back - Sexy Sadie. That was my dog's name and when they played this on Sunday mornings, I turned it up so she could hear her name on the radio. :)

And then.......... my cousin, who I wouldn't know if he walked in this room, just won the 10th caller prize from Lee's Famous Recipe while listening to this same Breakfast with the Beatles. I heard his name and city on the radio and my ears did a double take!!

Last song of the morning..........You Can't Do That

..............Bye

Sunday morning and me again -

Mother Nature's Son (they are doing lots of "mother songs!)

The cold wind is blowin' and the streets are getting dark
I'm writing you a letter and I don't know where to start
The bells will be ringing Saint John the Divine
I get a little lonely every year around this time
The music plays all night in Little Italy
The lights will be going up on old Rockefella's tree
People window shopping on Fifth Avenue
All I want for Christmas is you
I've got to know
Where do lonely hearts go
Because nobody ought to be all alone on Christmas

(My Mom is watching the Home Alone-Lost in New York Film and the volume is up) I like this song.

It's funny to see starstruck policemen. For those who don't know him, he is a Belgian singer and songwriter. He is so creative and a mega-star in Europe.

I first saw Stromae on a talk/variety show on Radio-Canada a few years ago. I really enjoy his music - it's fun and very catchy. (And now I'm going to have "Alors on danse" going through my head for the rest of the evening.... :-))

Continuing on French music, I absolutely love this guy. Julien Doré is a great singer, a superb performer on stage, sexy, funny but as nobody is perfect, his English is not that good.

Corbeau blanc is very dark and my favorite song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zoaRm0YUclw#t=1m37s

He is a bit crazy too :). In 2008 he made 3 versions of the same song Les limites, 1 where he dances and sings, 2 where he sings

So I found out, quite by accident, that Wolf Parade is playing some concert dates and released a new EP for the first time since 2010. I've been celebrating by listening to old Wolf Parade songs until I have the money in my iTunes account to by the new EP.

I'll Believe in Anything
This Heart's on Fire

DNCE - Cake By the Ocean

First off, yes, I'm old................when I saw this post, my first thought was which one is the group and which one is the song.
Reminds me of reading a post on one of the old rec.sport.skating message boards back in the day from someone who though a skater should skate to some song by Hootie and the Blowfish. I asked them if that was a real group!! I didn't listen to popular music back then either.

. . . Madest thou look . . .

Somehow I have ended up with a Styx compilation CD. I hate greatest hits CDs and have no clue where this came from but it's in my car. I have been listening mostly to Crystal Ball, Suite Madame Blue, Renegade, and Blue Collar Man. I sing along mightily!
But I am still annoyed how none of the songs are in the proper order from their original albums. :drama:
